Jim Collins does an amazing job of distilling the factors that make good companies great. As in Built to Last, the leaders in here are for the most part humble leaders and I love that.
Built to Last: Successful Habits of Visionary CompaniesBuilt to Last: Successful Habits of Visionary Companies by Jim Collins
Buy new: $18.15 / Used from: $15.40
A fantastic book.  It shows that the best companies were built by great leaders who were mostly unassuming and didn't seek attention.  We don't see biographies on most of these great leaders.

A wonderful little fable about how to use meetings effectively. Giuliani used many of these same tactics when he was mayor, although they are most likely independent of each other.

I had no clue that IBM needed to be turned around in the '90s, let alone that it was. A great book on leadership, thinking differently, and building great teams.

Benjamin Franklin: An American LifeBenjamin Franklin: An American Life by Walter Isaacson
Buy new: $19.80 / Used from: $2.61
Benjamin Franklin is an amazing guy. Talk about a guy who "thinks out of the box". He also shows once again that hard work is what makes a great leader. He was a very hard worker.
Jack: Straight from the GutJack: Straight from the Gut by Jack Welch

His book is very boastful, but the leadership wisdom he shares is worth reading.  I love that he rose from a "nobody" to be a great CEO. Too bad his personal life isn't as stellar.
LeadershipLeadership by Rudolph W. Giuliani
Buy new: $17.13 / Used from: $0.01
I was surprised by the impressive things Giuliani did during his tenure as NYC mayor. He toots his horn a lot, but I think it is deserved. Sadly it seems he worked himself out of a marriage.
My American JourneyMy American Journey by Colin L. Powell

Colin Powell is an amazing American. I feel badly that he got caught in a very bad place as Sec State as I think he has integrity, but the war makes others think differently.
Titan: The Life of John D. Rockefeller, Sr.Titan: The Life of John D. Rockefeller, Sr. by Ron Chernow

What a visionary. I was fascinated by the horrible family conditions in which he was raised, and amazed by his vision, hard work, and dedication to doing something he thought was possible. Monopoly?
My LifeMy Life by Bill Clinton

Before I listened to this book, I despised Clinton.  I now have a lot of respect for him and think he truly was a great leader.  He failed in the most important of areas, but he seems penitent.
Living HistoryLiving History by Hillary Rodham Clinton

Before listening to this, I thought ill of Hillary. After listening to her tell her side of the story, I respect her and would consider voting for her, "consider" being the operative word.  :)
