Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review
Senco has an unparalleled reputation when it comes to finish nailers, and this model is just another reason why. It's lightweight and so comfortable, but it packs awesome power, firing 1-1/4- to 2-1/2-inch nails through whatever you put in front of it. The pros like this product because of its angled magazine, which eliminates the need for bodily contortions in tight spots. The nailer's great balance and rubber grip make its 4.7 pounds feel much lighter. And if you've ever ruined a workpiece because your nailer spat oil on it, you'll love this: the SFN40K has a Neverlube design--it requires no oil--so you'll never have to lube it and it won't stain your work. It also has a great line of sight, a dual-action trigger, an adjustable depth-of-drive control for exact countersinking (and no troublesome overshooting), and a nonmarring nose pad. Yes, it is more expensive than some other brands, but you're definitely getting what you pay for here. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste

From the Manufacturer
This finish nailer features lightweight, well-balanced construction, weighing only 4.7 pounds. It has an angled magazine for easy maneuvering in hard-to-reach places. The adjustable depth-of-drive control permits precise countersinking of the fastener. The clean nose area increases your visibility, and E-Z Clear permits quick and easy clearing of jams. No lubrication is required, which means easier maintenance and no oil exhaust spray to stain fine woods. Accommodates six lengths from 1-1/4 through 2-1/2 inches. Fitting not included.

Senco Sfn40 Finish nailer5
Excellant tool. Being a finish carpenter for a living I use the tool 8-10 hours a day, everyday. I have owned it three years without having to make any repairs at all. The angle definately is a must when nailing baseboards in the corners.Fasteners are relatively inexpensive compared to other brands.Beats Paslode handsdown.

Finish carpenters taught woodworkers about this tool.5
While I don't use this tool all day every day like a finish carpenter might, there are several things about this gun that make it perfect for my fine woodworking use. Everything about this gun seems to help you make a tight, clean fastening whether on the bench or upside-down-inside a cabinet. Oil-less operation means no oil blown on a fine veneer that would foil a finish. The tools light weight belies the precisely controlled power available. Exact fastener depth control means no blow through, no hand setting - leaving the minimum hole to deal with for finish. The steep angle of the magazine allows difficult corners to be fastened easily. It is possible to save by buying a different brand. However, if you get paid for your labor and you plan on using this tool longer than 6 months I suggest that this is the most economical gun on the market.

Smooth operator5
Senco has long been recognized as the top manufacturer of pneumatic nailers. At least in the realm of finish nailers. The SFN 40 is no disappointment . I have used mine for several years now. I used the SFN 2b before that. I liked the old one but I like this one even more. We all love power. And this nailer has a lot to spare. It will sink 8 penny nails in hardwood all day long with no sign of stress. This doesn't mean it's a brute . The balance is perfect. Senco gives the user complete control. The drive adjustment is a joy to operate and it stays where you put it. The depth of drive remains consistent. The operation is typical senco. Soooo smooth ! You will love the oilless design. It will save you time when you're rolling out your tools . It will save you aggravation in work not ruined by oil stains. Don't worry about the durability of oilless. They last longer than many oiled designs. If you get a nail jam (Not likely)Just flip the easy clear lever on the nose of the tool and pull the nail out. Its that easy ! As others have said , the angled magazine is very nice. Many have tried to copy this nailer. Nobody has succeeded. Just use one next to a Porter cable, Bostich or paslode. It won't take very long and you too will see. This truly is the best you can buy. One more thing: the warranty is kind of strange. It covers all the normal things ,but Senco also covers "Acts of God". Like floods and other things . Unbelievable value!
