Customer Reviews
Horrible device
Four of us were sitting in the living room, chatting as adults do. Forty minutes later, my friend's son comes in, removes from a shelf this insidious device, grabs it, says "We've been listening to everything you guys said since you got back," and then runs out the door. Later we find him and his friend outside the building, celebrating the "success" of their "surveillance mission."
This is a horrible "toy," and I don't understand how its sale is permitted. (My research on Florida statutes suggests that even selling this type of electronic eavesdropping device--let alone using it--violates Florida law.) I know that this lad is shy; sadly, it seems a natural progression that he who is not adept at interacting with people face-to-face, has migrated to spying/eavesdropping/surveilling. I see that it has started with properties and parties to which he has access; I can only imagine that he will expand his activities to eavesdrop on strangers in the all-too-near future.
If you're thinking of purchasing this item for someone, think: what on earth do you think he/she will do with this spy technology? Is this really the type of enabling technology that you want in a youngster's life? If so, best to check the state statutes that cover unauthorized electronic surveillance. And while you're at it, you might want to find a parenting class being offered near you.
Does Not Turn Off
The whole family had a great deal of fun with this toy. It seemed to work okay as a toy would. We have to unscrew the battery compartment and take the battery in and out everytime we use it because we cannot get it close all the way to turn it off.
Great spy tool
This is a really cool toy. It seems dumb, but it works really well. It goes a long way and you can hear things really well. I love mine and it still works. The only thing is that it's kind of big for undercover missions and hard to hide. But otherwise it's great.
