Being a spy, even a pretend one of the sort so popular with modern kids, is not just about peering into the affairs of others. Sure, snooping around and trying to solve some sort of thrilling caper might be a big part of a spy's life but a good gumshoe must also know when they are the ones being spied on. This handy little motion alarm, looking highly space-age but otherwise somewhat nondescript, sets up neatly in a doorway, backpack, locker, or anywhere and emits a tiny laser beam that detects movement from up to 20 feet. An LED indicator lets you know when it's on. Granted, this isn't the most sophisticated toy in the world in terms of features and functionality but for youngsters concerned about privacy, it's a fun gadget to have around. --Charlie Williams

buyer beware
Only has a 2ft.range during daylight hrs. Totally useless at night unless you put your hand right up to it.False advertisment.Up to 2 ft. NOT 20!is what it should say.So tired of being ripped off.

Waste of money
I purchased this for my 8 year old nephew. The motion detector sometimes worked and sometimes did not work. We were both disappointed and he immediately lost interest in the it because of this.

One of the best of the Spy Gear toys!
More affordable than the "Spy Tracker" system from Spy Gear, which uses three detectors with antenna to map out where your enemy is. This on the other hand is a stand alone miniature motion detector with an audible alarm. Easy to hide, it lays under furniture, at corners, in drawers, facing doors, wherever you need advance warning that the other spies are coming.

Very easy for kids to operate, the battery lasts a long time, and most importantly, IT WORKS! The biggest complaint about some of the toys sold in the Spy Gear line is that so many of them do not work, so always read reviews or lists first. The gadget has a cool look to it, a little silver dome that is hidden pretty easily and detects movement from up to 20 feet. It has a tiny LED light that lets you know when it's on. Very fun and affordable toy, kids have fun for hours moving it all over the house and finding new ways to set it up.
