Animal Crossing City Folk and Wii Speak Microphone BundleAnimal Crossing City Folk and Wii Speak Microphone Bundle
Buy new: $69.99 / Used from: $29.99
A gentler, simpler cousin to Sims or Harvest Moon that lets the player set their own goals. Breed hybrid flowers? Catch every type of fish? Build all the dinosaurs? Kids fish, sell fruit, and interact with the neighbors. Write letters to friends or game characters, visit the towns your friends create.
Dance Dance Revolution Disney Grooves Includes Two Dance MatsDance Dance Revolution Disney Grooves Includes Two Dance Mats
Buy new: $69.99 / Used from: $59.95
Finally, a DDR the kids can actually do! Everyone knows that DDR levels can be insanely difficult, even on beginner settings. And the DDR game for the gamecube was almost too easy. This is familiar music with levels they can follow and a pace that wears them out after an hour or so. Perfect for rainy days.
LEGO BatmanLEGO Batman
Buy new: $16.49 / Used from: $13.99
The Lego series is extremely popular with the kids. Indiana Jones was buggy, it suffered from an extreme degree of difficulty in some levels and camera angle issues. Batman is a very respectable entry into kid friendly shooters. Enemies get blasted into lego blocks and rebuilt, new characters are easy to earn and levels don't need to be perfect.
Zack & Wiki Quest for Barbaros’ TreasureZack & Wiki Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure
Buy new: $67.94 / Used from: $11.00
Really overlooked, this is a great entry level adventure game with a well thought out story and bug free puzzles. Parts will be obvious to mom and dad, but the degree of difficulty is wide enough to be fund for the whole family.
Wii FitWii Fit
Buy new: $84.99 / Used from: $68.78
I know, a fitness program seems like a strange must have for younger kids, but the balance games are a tremendous hit around here. The ability to chart the performance of the whole family appeals as they try to 'beat' a parent at pushups or hula hooping. Some might object to the scale classifying children as too thin or obese, but body issues are a fact of life these days.
KlonoaKlonoa
Buy new: $27.99 / Used from: $10.67
Accessible platforming - too new to give a full endorsement so consider this a bonus item, but the early results show this to be a potential classic.
