Superior Calendar
I buy these every year. The size is perfect, the photos are phenomenal, the paper is nice and thick and good quality and the spiral binding has never let me down. Couldn't ask for a better weekly calendar!

Beautiful, but sturdiness could be an issue
I've been using this calendar for many years, even decades at this point. The photos are fabulous and varied, though I don't disagree with the critique about fewer animal pictures. For a while I kept saying I'd get the Ansel Adams equivalent, but when buying a calendar in the bleakness of December, I always end up preferring color to black-and-white, so now I don't even think about it. I also agree with the comment about having just the right amount of space to enter necessary info (birthdays, etc. as well as engagements). I even have 4 pages of phone numbers I paste in front and back; not all calendars have the space for those. And for those of you thinking electronics are better, I STILL get to phone numbers and appointments faster than people who are looking them up on their blackberries, and get pretty pictures besides.

As far as sturdiness goes, I should preface my comments with the fact that I am really hard on everything, and use this calendar ferociously! However, this year I had a few pages tear out - maybe a slightly lighter weight paper than in past years? And I have had slight spiral unwindings in past years, mostly because a sharp edge caught on a sweater or something that I also had in my bag.

Overall, a terrific product, and a purchase decision I don't even revisit any more.

Sierra Club Date Book
I love the Sierra Club date book/calendar. The photos are stunning, and there is plenty of room on every day for notes, as well as a snapshot of a full month calendar at the top of the page for referencing. The weight of the pages is also thick enough that the pages don't tear when carried around in a briefcase. The function of the calendar is as impressive as the pictures. I bought two this year, one for my personal use and one for my office.
