Sample Caption: "Fortitude - We all want to be strong... we want to be swift and graceful and embody all the attributes the world seems to reward the most. But in the real world we are not all strong; we are not all swift; and we can't face every circumstance with every attribute or resource we should. Whatever we have, whatever we are, or no matter how tired or disillusioned we are, there is still an objective to be reached, a dream to be realized..."

Customer Reviews
Excellent Calendar
This was a gift for my husband who is part native american. He LOVED IT!
The Lakota Way 2008 Calendar
I enjoy Joeseph Marshall's book a great deal, both fiction and non-fiction. I ordered this calendar and love it. It shows the Sioux calendar and provides thoughts through the year. This calendar has three artist's work for the monthly picture. Marshall is one of the artists. The art is wonderful. I enjoyed this so much; I now have the 2009 calendar. I love it also.
Calendar
While as a calendar, it serves it's purpose well. However, there are many items and notes placed on specific days, that relate to native history and culture. From that perspective, it's is a history lesson of sorts as well. each month also has narrative from Lakota Elders that are meditations and life lessons to guide and illuminate your path on the Red Road.
