Editorial Reviews

Album Description
US only 180-gram 2 LP pressing. This realistic portrayal of one of the bloodies battles ever stars Martin Sheen and Jeff Daniels. The soundtrack features the compelling and original score by Randy Edelman. His accompanyment creates an emotional ride that complements and enhances the Gettysburg experience. Edelman's score plays a huge role in Gettysburg, which chronicles the major battle of the U.S. Civil War. His evocative, emotional and courageous work helps shape this film and the feeling gained that is still alive and well today.

Customer Reviews

Superb score for a superb miniseries5
I've watched about half the series so far and that was enough reason alone for me to buy the soundtrack. (spoiler alert) The highlight for me was "Fife and Gun" when Reynolds died. The music from that piece has an almost European feel to it. From listening to the samples it looks like they have Edelman's orchestral score on this CD while all the marching band music and music that was supposed to have been played by characters on screen is on the other soundtrack disc. I enjoy orchestral scores better so I'll be sticking to just this album. Your opinion may differ.

Wonderful soundtrack5
I puchased this sound track to use as background music for a ceremony. It was perfect and added feeling and meaning to what was being read at the time. It also makes a great easy listening CD for those who just like to chill to something.

Majestic, Moving, Stirring, Epic...the list goes on and on!5
I can't think of enough positive things to describe Randy Edelman's score for the amazing film GETTYSBURG. It's a must listen-to.
