Album Description
All the energy of Brothers live shows....groove-based, Celtic instrumentals; the trademark blend of vocals; bagpipes; didgeridoo; mandolin and tribal percussion.
Amazon.com
Brother sounds like a male version of the Corrs, mixing a pop sensibility with the traditional sounds of their native land--in Brother's case, Australia. With bagpipes and didgeridoo in hand, Angus and Hamish Richardson lead a four-piece band in songs of romantic love and yearning. "The Clumsy Lover" spins a spunky dance of bagpipes, didgeridoo, and fat groove that casts an infectious spell. "All I Know" and "Take You Back" walk a thin line between catchy romantic pop song and maudlin metal ballad. Overall, Brother's inventive blend is admirable. What isn't is their loose songwriting that sometimes features repetitious melodies and riffs. Granted, the mixture of bagpipes and blaring drum kit is interesting, but becomes outright enchanting when Brother travels to several diverse places in one song. --Karen Karleski

Sizzling Bagpipes & Rocking Didgeridoo
This Australian band's music is so strong it bursts off the player. The opening instrumental "Granny & Rory MacLeod" is such a powerful anthem, it'll get you off your feet! Angus Richardson's "Falling" boasts a great melody, "All I want is you to see how you burn inside me; all I need is you to know that you never leave me." From the rather silly "The Clumsy Lover" to the strong instrumental "The Mason's Apron" and the lovely closer "Carry Me," Hamish, Angus & Fergus with band mate Dave Albert Allen blast with energy and passion on this wonderful set. Enjoy!
play it everyday
From the first drone of the didgeridoo at the top, to the last strum of the last song "Carry Me" ,my whole being is in this album. It covers all their talents. Buy it. Own it. Play it. What can I say other than I had to buy another cd because I wore the first one out!
Ouch!
Brother has become one of the most exciting performers that I have ever seen. Their live chemistry can be felt in every studio venture that they've produced to date. The symbolic tapestry of each piece is combined with splendid harmonies, haunting overtures of bagpipes and the didgeridoo, that will entrance and delight music fans of all ages. Kinetic energies literally explodes from their discs. My ears have never tasted anything so good. 5 plus stars.
