Hirsch is memorable here as a sensitive boy confronted by the troubles and insecurities of an older, rougher young man.

I like Korine's willingness to point the camera at whatever he finds. We don't quite know what is rehearsed here and what is not, though we know a great deal of it cannot be.

Better than I expected. Some genuine, heartfelt moments here about gang violence, racism, and a young boy's desire to feel belonging and place within his peer group.

Abundantly hilarious, absolutely pitch-perfect combination of dark humor and accurate look at junior high school for a not-too-popular girl.

On the surface it seems sitcomish. But I'm inclined to believe it as a genuine, clear-headed but open look at growing up and having new experiences in new places.

A quiet movie with very little dialogue. Leaves the viewer to pin down otherwise ambiguous events and motives. It's possibly about "getting older" and how people change, and how some do not (for better or worse).

A quirky love drama about two autistics/Aspergers. Its off-beat humor charms every time, especially when it's confusing.

This is excellent filmmaking I think. And you should not miss the chance to see Gael Garcia Bernal in drag... very convincing.

I think the director once said this film was really about children, or that was his own interpretation anyway.

Youth and age, experiment and maturity. What does it mean to be a part of the larger social-economic structure? Must we leave behind our dreams in order to be "adults"? Is it a compromise, a necessity, something else?

A class of high school senior boys get fondled by their lovable teacher. They don't mind since he actually does have their best interest at heart... interesting how that double element works on us here.

Meditative film about a guy wandering through philosophical dreamscapes, meeting characters and pondering the meaning of existence. Requires some patience.

One of my favorite films. The fatalism at work here becomes overwhelming by the conclusion.

Kids and killing again. One of the kids goes plop and panic ensues.
