The Hunted (Widescreen Edition)The Hunted (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $7.49 / Used from: $0.01
A Rambo knock-off, but with better acting and an eco-friendly message that Al Gore might get behind (were he suffering from Post-War Stress Syndrome).
The BackwoodsThe Backwoods
Buy new: $19.98 / Used from: $2.75
Spain, remote hunting lodge, creepy locals, Gary Oldman, dead rabbits...great. (see Oldman, with Tim Roth in Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead)
Lawrence of Arabia (Single Disc Edition)Lawrence of Arabia (Single Disc Edition)
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $3.76
Peter O'Toole, the desert (he likes it because it's "clean"), silly British Imperialsim, long as...

The Last of the Mohicans (Director's Expanded Edition)The Last of the Mohicans (Director's Expanded Edition)
Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $5.84
Evidence that a great score doesn't always cover up bad cinematorgraphy and just because you're the last of something, doesn't mean you go quietly. Once again British come off silly and proud/ignorant (see also The Patriot for extreme example). (See Danny also in Gangs of NY and There Will Be Blood or anything else he's ever been in for a treat)
Mel Gibson's Apocalypto (Widescreen Edition)Mel Gibson's Apocalypto (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $4.97
Very bloody and graphic; though greatvariation on old plot line (see also 10,000 BC for bad example). Kudos to Mel for keeping himself out of this one.
The Day After Tomorrow (Widescreen Edition)The Day After Tomorrow (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $0.01
An eco-friendly statement that Gore did endorse. A bit preachy, but watch it on wide screen with surround sound and it's worth it despite the token over acting.
Master and Commander - The Far Side of the World (Widescreen Edition)Master and Commander - The Far Side of the World (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $0.01
The stuffy British uniforms in the tropics must have been hell. Once again, Russell Crowe the actor: great; Russell Crowe the person: jerk.
Without A Paddle (Widescreen Edition)Without A Paddle (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $9.49 / Used from: $0.39
"I never thought I would be glad to hear something that sounded like Creed." Getting lost and starving will do that to you. (It's a comedy by the way)
WestenderWestender
Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $0.12
A simple movie, visually expansive, interesting and not too drawn out. (Fantasy)
The Good, the Bad & the Ugly (2-Disc Collector's Edition)The Good, the Bad & the Ugly (2-Disc Collector's Edition)
Buy new: $19.98 / Used from: $8.54
Blondie, Tuco and Angel Eyes, they get into so much mischief! Once again, the score that isn't there to cover up bad directing.
The Searchers (John Wayne Collection)The Searchers (John Wayne Collection)
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $4.75
I would say almost any John Ford film is a good example of man and nature, but this one is more expansive than most of the others, and is fascinating because of it's connections to the origin of the Western genre (books and film) itself.
Gone with the WindGone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
Buy new: $11.56 / Used from: $8.59
Clark Gable: example of how you either look rediculous wearing a mustache or like...well Clark Gable.
Legends of the Fall (Special Edition)Legends of the Fall (Special Edition)
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $1.81
I put off watching this movie for so long, convinced it was the sappiest of Chick Flicks. Low and Behold! I was a Pitt fan since (see also Pitt in Snatch). Also made me want to move to Montana...

Stockholm syndrome at it's finest.
Apocalypse Now ReduxApocalypse Now Redux

Jaws (Widescreen Anniversary Collector's Edition)Jaws (Widescreen Anniversary Collector's Edition)
Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $4.75
Look up what Dreyfus was saying about this movie before it came out. Keep in mind it is now considered one of the best, and made Spielberg a star. It's hard not to respect Robert Shaw after seeing this.
Dances with Wolves - Extended Cut (Two-Disc Collector's Edition)Dances with Wolves - Extended Cut (Two-Disc Collector's Edition)
Buy new: $21.99 / Used from: $6.27
Maybe Costner could have gone the way of Gibson and gotten behind the camera, but he's always gotta have that shot of his posterior. I remember this as the only movie I've seen in the theatre that had an intermission. (see Costner also in Mr. Brooks...very creepy)
