Since you live on one floor you might consider putting the baby in his crib as soon as you get home. This is similar to Jakes. Stella's has a drop down but we never use that.

You will need a pack and play at some point for travel. If you get one that includes a bassinet you could use it for that as well. Ours is too big to fit in the bedroom so that is one consideration.

This goes on top of the changing table or you could put it on a dresser if you have a spare.

They even come in nice colors and patterns! I hear they are good for cleaning but I haven't cleaned since Dec 06 so who knows!

Gotta have lots of onsies in all sizes. This goes under any outfit they wear. Don't get too many newborn or 0-3 size as they grow out of that fast!

I never used these but some moms swear by them.

I use these diapers until about size 3 then I switch to Luvs which are MUCH cheaper. These are so soft for new baby though and they use them in the hospital. Don't buy too many newborn size!!! Jake is in size 2 already!

Doesn't matter what brand, although I didn't care for Huggies brand. Make sure you get cream and not ointment...ick, too greasy.

Cheap as I am I do prefer these wipes to any other. The dispenser sucks though so buy a tub of huggies and refill with these. At 3am with poop flying you don't want to be fighting with the friggin tub.

We have something like this in Jake's room and it is AWFUL! Seriously get yourself a good chair! I tried to use it one night and finally sat on the floor.

We are slaves to our monitor. Not sure if that is good or bad. Since you are all on one level you may not need it but it does give peace of mind.

I also rec these bottles if you don't want to go with the liner system but there are more parts to clean. drove me batty after a while. We used these with Stella.

We use this one but are not partial to it. You will give sponge bath until umbilical stump comes off then you will need a tub for baths.

I use these bottles at night and in my diaper bag. You can put water in the bottle and formula in the cup at the bottom and when you need to feed you just add the formula and shake it up and done! Very easy to use. I just prepare them at night and put them on nightstand.

You may want to have a couple types of paci on hand when for baby to try. This is the type Stella and Jake used but each kid is different.

We are borrowing this from a friend and OMG it is WONDERFUL! You wouldn't need that other seat if you had this. It is a seat and swing with sounds and vibration and it is great!

Our pack and play came with a white noise sound and we use it a lot! Helps calm Jake down and puts him to sleep at night. You might wait to see if he struggles before you buy one.

We are HUGE fans of this guy and his DVD was very helpful. He helped us endure Stella's 4 solid months of crying!
