Gosh--kids. You gotta love 'em, right? Well, not necessarily-- particularly if you're Adam Sandler. But Big Daddy is about paternal devotion in its own oblique way. Sandler plays Sonny Koufax, a law-school grad who has been milking an accident settlement to cover his living expenses, while he continues to slack his way through life. But when his girlfriend threatens to dump him, he decides to show her he's serious about their relationship and pretends to adopt a little boy (in fact, his roommate's son from a one-night stand several years earlier, who shows up on their doorstep just after the roommate leaves town on a job). But after taking care of the tyke for a couple of days, Sonny finds that it's a little like feeding that stray dog that followed you home: Before you know it, you've grown attached to the little fella--and then what are you going to do? By turns crude and maudlin, Big Daddy has its share of laughs and will certainly entertain fans who like Adam Sandler best when he plays the case of arrested development with a smart-aleck retort for everything. --Marshall Fine

From The New Yorker
Anyone looking to solve the mystery of Adam Sandler's mass appeal is not going to do it here. In his latest film, Sandler adopts a little boy to get his girlfriend back, and, of course, each teaches the other lessons about love and responsibility. The tepid movie is supposed to up the ante for Sandler much as "Liar, Liar" did for Jim Carrey (it elevated him from gross-out gag king to warm comic actor). But Sandler lacks any kind of discernible comic energy; he's just meandering around the film waiting for something to happen, and almost nothing funny does. -Bruce Diones

One of Sandlers Best4
This is a funny story about how a lazy unmotivated guy learns responsibility after falling in love with a 5 yr old kid who was dropped off at his door. The kid was dropped off because his mother was dieing and she wanted the biological father to get a chance to assume responsibility before the option of foster care was elected. The boy is supposed to belong to his roommate who was away on business so Sandler gets this bright idea to take responsibility hoping it will show his girlfriend he can be responsible. Adam's character becomes more like a friend to the small boy instead of a parent and ends up making plenty of mistakes. In the end Sandler learns he loves this boy and will do what the has to to keep him. There are plenty of laugh out loud parts especially the clips where Sandler pokes fun with his best friends bride to be. As well as some touching mushy "I love my daddy " scenes. Over all it was a great movie to just sit down and enjoy without having to learn the storyline by piecing together the events to comprehend the meaning of the film.

Sweet, naughty humor.4
Big Daddy starring Adam Sandler and Joey Lauren Adams is a sweet romantic comedy. I enjoy this film although some of the scenes are bit gross. Steve Buscemi's physical comedy holds this film together. Sandler isn't too annoying in this flick which is nice. I recommend checking this unexpected and cute film out, enjoy!

Great Comedy!5
Adam Sandler stars in this movie about a man who pretends to be Kevin Garrady. Shortly a kid named Julian shows up at his door with a guy from child services saying that he's his son. Then starts the laughs as Julian and Kevin do all kinds of wacky things together. I really enjoyed this movie and thought it was hilarious. If you're an Adam Sandler fan, definately get this movie for yourself. You won't be disappointed!
