Editorial Reviews
Album Description
dEUS are back. New album, new line up, new passion. The acclaimed Belgian singer/multi-instrumentalist Tom Barman retuns with his first new dEUS album "Pocket Revolution", after a 6 year hiatus (9 in the US since the last release was not readily available in America).
Customer Reviews
Pontiac picks another winner.
I've come to find that Pontiac never goes wrong with any of the background music for their car commercials, and they definitely didn't go wrong by using dEUS's "If you don't Get What You Want". In fact I liked the song so much i went and got the album. I think i found one of my new favorite groups in the process they're a nice blend of chill and kind of that early 90's alternative. if you're a fan of this album i definitely suggest checking out WCS, it's a little weirder, but still really cool.
Also if you like this band, i suggest checking out M83, kind of electronic technoish with some cool riffs thrown in every now and then.
Tom Barman has done it again
Belgium's dEUS have been releasing some of the most original music around for the last decade or so . It's true that commercially speaking, their career never really did take off . Still their latest release , Pocket Revolution contains more ideas than the last twenty cds you bought add up together . From the well-written rock of "Bad Timing" , "Seven Days , Seven Weeks" and "What We Talked About" to the warmth of "The Real Sugar" and "Include Me Out " the band displays freshness and sheer talent . Their comeback is much more than just welcome .
clever entertainment
not as eclectic and adventurous as their previous works, sounds like a conscious attempt at reaching a wider audience with a more conventional pop-rock oriented product. The songwriting is good.
Overall an above-average CD (for the market, not for the band) that's certainly worth listening to and possibly buying.
