Album Description
Amour is Jimpster's 3rd official artist CD and his first since 2003's Domestic Science. From downtempo, instrumental hip hop grooves through to abstract minimal techno through to deep, clicky house and way beyond, the CD will reawaken even the most jaded of listeners. By bringing in various vocalists on this project, each track has a unique approach which helps to bring a different identity to each track and keep things sounding fresh and musical throughout. ''I love this guy's lush electronic-dub-house sound.'' -Jason Bentley KCRW.

***** 5 STAR SOUNDS *****
This is a tremendous LP. The production is stunning. Dance artists have a hard time pulling off consistently good albums but this guy Jamie Odell is an exception to the rule. How come no one talks about Jimpster? This stuff is amazing.
There is a stately beauty to the record, almost every track is strong although the standouts are "Slippin'" and "Love You Better". Some might complain about the laid-back quality but the cuts that pump, REALLY pump.
Beautifully produced electronic music in all styles of beat but with an exceptionally soulful feeling. They're calling this genre Nu Jazz but I think it's more unclassifiable than that. There's a spacey tech vibe but also a melodic soulfulness. If you like the sounds of Trentemoller, Timewriter + Plastic City, Metro Area, Naked Music, Brennan Green, Daniel Wang, Loft disco, deep soul and dub then this is a must.
A milestone in electronica and a joy to listen to. Five Stars ***** A+
This is Jimpster again
"Downtempo"... Yes this is the real comeback of Jamie - he spent some time doing chill, lounge, whatever you want to call the cheap music style... With Amour, Jimpster seems to be back to Martian Arts times and I personally love it. I guess all BOC (boards of canada) fans will like this piece of art - easy to listen to, but not easy listening! Just great, enjoy!
