Nice container
This is what I have been looking for but I wish they had a larger one. I distill my own water and place it in this container. If you're looking for a water jug this isn't what you want because when you add ice to cool the water it will leave large puddles on whatever it sits on but it's just fine for room temperature water. I recommend this product.
good for college.
Great product. The wide mouth at the top makes it easy for the water to get in. I would recommend this to anyone that lives in a place with hard water (unless you like to drink it) because it beats buying bottled water. At $1.50/5 gallons of water at my local grocery store, its a good long term investment. A must have for those going to college in a hot dry climate!
Excellent
This is just as described: sturdy, large, easy to use. I didn't want to turn my counter-top water filter on and off all the time. So I got this water dispenser so that I can filter a lot of water at a time and not worry about it for next 3-4 days. I'd very highly recommend it.
A few tips on using it:
1. Don't close the lid too tightly. If the lid is closed so tightly that it becomes air-tight, then the tap can't dispense water.
2. After receiving the product, make sure that the dispensing-tap is tightly screwed in. I had to turn it one whole turn. Unless that tap is very tightly in place, water may leak from the base/gasket joint.
3. This is the only complaint that I have here: although the tap dispenses water if you either "lift" or "press" the lever, it appears to be a better idea to use the "lift" mode and not the "press" mode. I used it by pressing for the first 3-4 weeks, but then water started dripping from the tap slowly. Once I switched to lifting the lever, it's doing fine ever since.
