The Crosshair Laser Level transmits both a horizontal AND a plumb level line with Bulls Eye Auto Leveling Laser Technology. The Crosshair Laser Level is a hand-held, self-leveling device that gives you a square work area. Place the Crosshair on the wall at the corner where you want your project to start. Push a button and the Crosshair transmits a level line across the wall and a vertical line up the wall. The Crosshair can also hang on walls for hands-free convenience. Place the Crosshair at the desired position on your wall, then push in the hanging pin (included) through the open center of the Crosshair. Now, you are ready to work with both hands along the horizontal and vertical level lines to lay tile, hang pictures, install chair rail, closet shelving and more. Works great
I like this product, but it really takes two people. One to hold the unit and one to mark. It does have the optional nail attachment, but it chips the plaster. It's only recommended for drywall. I got it at a huge discount so it was worth it to me. I don't think I would pay the usual $50 price tag though.

excellent choice
this was one of the best purchases, for it's price...i've already used it to help with painting and laying new bathroom floors...haven't used the part that attaches, and really haven't found a need for that, but if it works like the rest, it'll do just fine...this is a great size and price for someone who needs a little tool to help out...

Good product and a good price!
I'm an amateur do-it-yourselfer who does not want to spend a lot of money on tools. I used this for simple projects, such as installing shelves, and it worked very nicely -- especially considering the low price. I am very pleased.
