WONDERFUL5
I RECENTLY PURCHASED AROUND 1000 WORLD MUSIC CDS AND HAVE THEM ALL IN MY COMPUTER AND I PLAY THEM ON RANDOM -- EVERY TIME I HEAR A REALLY COOL SONG THAT I SIMPLY MUST STOP WHAT I'M WORKING ON TO INVESTIGATE WHAT IT IS, 9 TIMES OUT OF 10 IT TURNS ON TO BE ONE OF THE SONGS ON ONE OF THE 4 TANTRA LOUNGE CDS I HAVE. I FELT COMPELLED TO WRITE A REVIEW BECAUSE I TOOK A CHANCE IN BUYING ALL THE WORLD CDS I HAVE TO EXPANSE MY LISTENING HORIZONS AND REALLY WANT TO PROMOTE HOW MUCH I LIKE THIS LABEL.

3Excellent sophomore entry in the series!5
The second entry in the series is much more electronic and exotic with a more mainstream appeal throughout. "Calcutta" is a beautiful song as well as "Eastern Dawn" and "Matter". The 1991 remix of Jhoole Jhoole by the late Nusrat Fatah Ali Khan is my favorite track on this CD. Highly recommended.

Excellent Indian Lounge & Trip Hop4
All too often, what purports to be "Indian/South Asian" lounge is just some soft noddling music or New Agey music with some sitars and tablas dropped in - and they call it a day.

This however is a great collection of real Indian musicians or at least musicians who really appreciate and understand Indian music ... and of course, real lounge & trip hop music.

About 50% of the CD are definitely cool, exotic lounge - about 50% of the tracks really fall under the definition of Indian trip hop and not really lounge. They are still excellent tracks and if your music horizons are broad - they are excellent Indian trip hop tracks - just be aware they are not all 'lounge or chill tracks.'

The last two tracks are really New Age or old school ambient techno ... they don't hold up as well as the other tracks but overall, an excellent collection of world class tracks.
