About the Author
Brenda Miller Power is an associate professor of literacy education at the University of Maine, where she works with teachers and children of all ages. The co-founder with Ruth Hubbard of Teacher Research: The Journal of Classroom Inquiry, Brenda also often directs a summer literacy camp where she hones her notetaking skills. She lives in Holden, Maine, with her husband David and daughter Deanna.
