Imagine being able to write as twice as fast and take information down when people speak! Who wants to spend months learning traditional shorthand? Now you don't have to. Existing shorthand methods are based on learning of a large volume of random and hard-to-memorize abbreviations which require very extensive studying and daily usage of the symbols memorized. EasyScript
This has been very helpful in learning the FastNotes technique. I don't know about a 'matter of hours,' but certainly the technique is a good one, and I will (with a few changes) incorporate this into my own technique. Editing on this book was a little iffy - quite a few glaring errors - but easily corrected. Worth the money and worth my time.
Review of Easyscript Kindle Edition book
The Kindle-specific "EasyScript Unique Speedwriting" is a hastily put together workbook. From the text, I gather that there are tables; however, the formatting is messed up. Every other page is a set of lines (presumably from the original version?). They are not useful on the Kindle, since you can't write on it or print from it. Moreover, even the lines were formatted for a page wider than the kindle text! It is very difficult to understand what the exercises are supposed to accomplish and because the answers are all at the end of the book (page numbers are given, but they don't make sense on the Kindle) it's not easy to see whether you are doing things correctly. So now I'll have to buy this book again as a hardcopy. I expected that some of my own PDF documents would not transcribe over to the Kindle, but I did expect Amazon to provide some minimum vetting process so that this kind of content wouldn't appear. Is it possible to return a Kindle purchase?
EasyScript Express
As an attorney with no formal training in shorthand, I found the EasyScript Express book very intuitive and helpful in my daily practice. Reading a chapter a day I was able to focus on learning just a few new concepts each day and implementing them right away. This is a much simpler process than the formal shorthand method, and for that, I am grateful.
