From Booklist
Gr. 1^-2. Lured away from his family by the enticement of the circus, Lowly Worm performs under the Big Top and immediately becomes a star. Soon the circus moves on to Pleasantville, but Lowly decides to stay in Busytown, where he belongs. Adapted from the animated television show The Busy World of Richard Scarry, this colorful book will undoubtedly attract beginning readers as well as preschoolers. The simple story and artwork, the well-established characters, and the clarity of the emotions portrayed make this an appealing story for young children. Carolyn Phelan

Scarring up some drama...
Yes, the circus has finally come to Busytown. In this episode we find Lowly Worm faced with the dilemma of having to choose his "real" family. Will he choose the circus family, who he wistfully runs away with after impressing their ring leader (Top Hat Fox), or will he remain true to the cat family, who has nurtured him thus far along the road of life? This installation proves to be an emotional rodeo that consequently introduces fundamental questions of 'authenticity' regarding adoptive kinship strategies in planned interspecies patternings. A stimulating and colorful romp.
EXCELLENT! The best children's book ever!

It's great how Lowly learns where he truly belongs.
