TMS is real; this book is a joke
I have read three of Dr. Sarno's books and know quite a bit about TMS as a result. This book is a total rip-off of your money--it really says very little about this important subject. Starting from the double-spaced text (the author has to stretch out his content-devoid writing), the book tells you nothing other than the fact that many maladies can be psychosomatic (mindbody) caused. I don't know what books the other four "glowing" reviews were talking about--it certainly wasn't this book. Do not waste your time or money on this very amateur attempt at writing
A great book and it works!
First of all, I do not know Dr. Sopher as the last reviewer suggests about the other two reviewers. I totally agree with the second review. I first read Dr. John Sarno's books, but then found this one and it is easier to read and understand. As crazy as the ideas sound, they do work. Your mind definitely influences your body. I had severe back pain a few years ago when I saw Dr. Sarno on Oprah. I bought two of his books and read them. I was definitely skeptical. Then one night the pain was so bad in the middle of the night that I decided to try what I had read. And amazingly, the pain went away and didn't return. My wife also had the same experience with severe leg pain. We have loaned our books to several of our friends and all have benefited from them. Now with this book of Dr. Sopher's it's even easier to understand. What a wonderful thing it would be if there were more publicity about this approach and people could be spared unnecessary pain. You really need to read the entire book and try it. I'm sure there are probably some people who it won't work for but what do you have to lose. It's very hard to explain the whole concept unless you read the books.
A Waste of Time & Money
I don't understand how any one could give this book 5 stars, unless it would be the author himself. This book has zero value. It is not only poorly written but insults the reader with its vague explanations of how we are "To Be or Not To Be Pain Free". Beware of the 5 star ratings, it is my guess that these individuals are acquaintances of the author. I have place this book exactly where it belongs ... in the trash. By the way, this is the first time that any of the many purchases of books and other items have spurred me to write a negative review.
