Editorial Reviews
From the Author
I've tutored high school students for eight years. I know how boring and exasperating this SAT stuff can be. So I've tried to create books that make the task less intimidating (these books aren't 900 pages), and far more fun than people expect it to be. There's a lot of fooling around, and even some great cartoons. But there's also, I hope, a wealth of valuable information and an approach that comes from the experience of seeing hundreds of students struggle and worry needlessly. The secret is simple: know the content, because all the tricks in the world won't help you get past gaps in your knowledge. And understand how this test works. I believe "500 SAT Words" will help you a great deal in both areas. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. And good luck!

Customer Reviews
Great,But...
I love this book its great if you can sit and read, without being bored out of your mind.
This book tries to teach you these words through many mnemonic devices that i think are awesome, if thats how you learn. For instance aloof, "think of a person on a roof, separated and detached" than their might be a picture to further help you remember.
Personally I made flash cards with all of these words. That was a tedious job,
so i ended up buying a set of flash cards instead.
Great variety of Vocabulary
This book has many vocabulary words, with funny sentences and pictures that goes with each vocabulary. The only thing negative thing, there isn't a picture for EVERY word, just some words.
SAT words
This book was invaluable, couldn't believe how many of these words were on the actual test.
