Customer Reviews

Initial Impression2
My initial impression has me feeling slightly disappointed. The case
just isn't as solid feeling as the one which comes with the Kindle.
There is no extra padding over the screen which has me a little
concerned as far as putting the case into my laptop bag. I also don't
think the cover folds back quite as nicely as the original case, but
it may be something that I will adjust to in time. With the cover
folded over for reading, I found the fastener tab a little annoying
until I folded it under the cover where the Kindle sits. There is no
problem attaching the Mighty Bright light to the case.

It has card slots and a pen loop. I probably won't use the pen loop
out of fear of having a pen explode next to my Kindle. I do like
having the tabs in the four corners to keep the Kindle in place. The
elastic in the top right corner is pretty tight. If you have big
fingers (like my husband) you might find it a little tough to get
your finger under there to use the switches.

I Really Like This Cover.5
I like this cover much better then the original.
The the Kindle fell out of the Original Cover and
sometimes took the battery cover with it.
The M-edge holds on to the Kindle much better.
The feature I like best is that when the cover
is folded back on itself there is approximately one inch
of cover on the right hand side that you can hold on to.
I hardly ever turn the page accidentally anymore.
I will keep this one until Piel Frama, " [..]"
comes out with a Kindle cover.

Quality Product but I Still Have Reservations3
I just received this case in black:

- it smells funny at first but fades as it is exposed over time to air (it's packed in a plastic bag for shipping). The smell reminded me of a combination of glue/fake leather.

- the sides are far less rigid than the original case. There are reinforcements in the cover but they are not nearly as rigid as the original cover.

- it does a much better job of holding the Kindle in the case since there are now 3 little pockets and an elasticized strap.

- although there is now a strap over the top right (two pieces of elastic held together by a little bridge of fake leather), once slipped off, it is really just the same trouble to access the back of Kindle for off/on switches

- the nice padded patch on the inside front of the original cover is missing on the M-Edge

I've decided to keep the M-Edge as a backup only. I'm nervous that over time, the comparative lack of similar rigidity of the original cover and the lack of the specific front inside padding could potentially damage the Kindle's screen either due to scratches or undue pressure on the screen itself. This is my fear, not a reality so evaluate accordingly.

Also, I generally felt a somewhat harder time holding the Kindle in the M-Edge case with one left hand only which could be due to the case not being as rigid as the original. I felt my hand was having to support more of the Kindle's weight, i.e. there was a sense of "unbalance" that was tiring to my hand. This is when the case's left front is folded behind the Kindle and while holding the spine of the cover in my left hand only.

Overall, M-Edge has made a quality product build-wise but not my "perfect" case yet. The only problem I have with the original case is the lack of holders on the right side - if Amazon would fix that plus create some accommodation for the backside switches access and I think the original case is still very nice.
(On the original case, I pull the elastic strap over the bottom right edge of Kindle to keep the cover on.)
