Genius Playlists
Say you have one song you really love and want to hear other tracks that go great with it. A few clicks on iPod nano, and Genius uses that song to find other songs in your library and makes a Genius playlist for you. How it Works
You'll notice how smoothly and easily VoiceOver works. A lot of thought went into creating an iPod nano that not only talks, but says the right things. It all begins with iTunes and its seamless integration with iPod nano. First, iTunes reads your song information, then uses the VoiceOver Kit to generate the announcements for the songs, artists, and playlists. Just sync your iPod nano to your computer and it really speaks to you.

It Speaks Multiple Languages
Your music library has songs from all over the world--a love song from France, a bolero from Spain, a pop tune from Japan. Luckily, VoiceOver speaks fluent song.

iTunes selects the language and best voice for your song titles and artist names. It looks at song data, like the title, artist, and album information, then applies intelligent algorithms to choose the right language. For example, iTunes recognizes the song "Ya Viene el Sol� by Ozomatli as a Spanish song, so your iPod nano will automatically speak that song title and artist in Spanish. If you prefer to hear that information spoken in another language, you can change the designated VoiceOver language for that song in iTunes.

Apple is not playing nice with windows 7
I upgraded to the Nano 5 after being so very happy with the little shuffle for the past year. I gave my shuffle away and it is the biggest mistake I could have made. First off... I have a pretty new computer. One of the problems I had with the new Nano is the Ipod doesn't like 64bit computers. I had to un-install all of my apple programs and reinstall. After that I got some music Soon after that my computer was eligible for the windows upgrade to 7 I did that and now the computer is not compatible with the ipod at all. From what I have been told it has something to do with the video camera in the ipod.The computer can not tell that it is an Ipod and the itunes site doesn't recognise it. I can not tell you how many hours I have spent trying to get this ipod to sync any of my music. I have written to Apple with no response at all. I have written to Windows 7 and they pretty much say that the problem is with Itunes. The Ipod just gives you instructions on how to turn the thing on and off with info on the web site so I just bought the "iPod: The Missing Manual" Now I have to un-install, re- install and reset everything on my computer and ipod or I might have to reset the Ipod to its factory settings. Seems like an awful lot of work to me and the ipod still is not working. I do think Apple should fix these problems or tell people up front that their new products do not work with PCs. To me it seems odd that little companies (compared to Apple) can make patches so their programs will work with windows 7 yet Apple can put out a new Nano and have it mess up so much.
One other gripe I have with this 5th generation Nano is that you have to charge the nano by way of computer or buy an adapter to be able to charge the Nano in a wall outlet.

Color?
I was getting a little tired of the size of my iPod Touch, and found myself wanting a slimmer, trimmer iPod to tuck easily into my pocket. So when a friend of mine showed me his new Nano it was probably inevitable that I get one. I've had previous versions of the Nano as well as the shuffle and am happy with this one, with the exception of the battery life, which a number of users have already commented on. I have a iCraig radio at my office (didn't want to get an expensive radio that might "walk"), and it charged my old Nano, but not this one. I ran it with the backlight on yesterday, and that depleted the battery almost completely so I had to plug it into my computer's USB drive to power it back up. I now use the backlight timer and it helps, although I was surprised to see that the energy bar went down quite a bit even so.
One additional thing - maybe it's my computer screen, but the purple Nano on the screen is a lighter purple than the one I received. It is also darker than some I have seen in the stores. May not be a big deal, and I'm not saying this is Amazon's fault, but if someone is very particular about color, they may want to make their purchase in person.

I love my Apple iPod nano!
My ipod nano (5th Gen) is my second ipod. The first was an 80 gig video ipod that was given to me. It finally died and I needed a replacement that was not as big to take with me EVERYWHERE. When I saw the nano I was first surprised that all it offered in such a small package. I really enjoy the extras like the pedometer and the voice memos. I am able to record sessions at rehearsals and meetings as well gage my fitness progress via Nike+. I have only used the video camera once and I can say its not bad. The FM tuner is cool too with the song tagging feature. I just enjoy my nano and am happy I purchased it. I am sold!
