It ends up on his back, kicking his legs, flapping his arms and giggling with the words, "You did it again." It ends his hilarious giggle session by standing up and letting out a deep sigh. Editorial Reviews

Editorial Review
In 1996 Independence Day rocked the box office, the "Macarena" began its trek up the charts before landing on wedding dance floors, and Elmo first showed the world his predilection for tickles. Tickle Me Elmo is remembered as one of the most difficult-to-find toys of the 1996--or any--holiday season.

Elmo gets more outrageous when you "tickle" him a second time, and the fun really starts with the third "tickle" session

Ten years later, T.M.X. Elmo (the X stands for 10) was unveiled to the world on Good Morning America on September 19. The most secretly guarded toy of the pre-holiday season, if not all time, T.M.X. Elmo was shown only to a few toy-industry insiders prior to his release. This secrecy didn't stop thousands of pre-orders from piling up. Though now that all is known, the obvious question is: Does T.M.X. Elmo deserve the hype?

When you first take him out of his box, T.M.X. Elmo doesn't seem all that grand. He looks after all, well, like Elmo. Covered in the soft red fur that one would expect from everyone's favorite Sesame Street character, T.M.X. Elmo stands an unimposing 14 inches tall. Even worse, he feels all hard and plasticy under his fur. But this Elmo is not meant for cuddles or hand holding or swaddling.

This Elmo is all about tickles.

Sit T.M.X. Elmo down and hit one of his three "tickle" spots. There's one under his chin, one on his belly, and one on top of his foot. Yes, this Elmo wiggles just like he did 10 years ago, but that's just the start. Elmo slaps his belly, falls forward with his butt sticking out, stands back up again only to topple backwards, kicks his legs over his belly, and then stands right back up, all while laughing hysterically.

"Again! Again!"

Elmo gets more outrageous when you "tickle" him a second time, and the fun really starts with the third "tickle" session. Elmo's fancy moves include falling over on his side, shimmying on his back, and what seems to be everyone's favorite: lying flat on his belly slapping the floor next to him as if he can’t stop laughing. This Elmo has a serious case of the giggles. His trademark voice builds into a fit of histrionics, endless snickers that drown out everything but an unintelligible cackle until even Elmo admits he has had too much.

T.M.X Elmo requires 6 AA batteries, which are included, although these wore down quickly in our review copy. Elmo also has an on/off switch, so the tickles can be brought to an end when more than just Elmo has had too much. He moves a lot and needs a little open space for the full performance, although he does use his arm to determine his orientation periodically and stand back up if nothing is in the way. He gets a little stuck on uneven surfaces but for the most part performs amazingly well on carpet. On hardwood floors, Elmo works, but he occasionally slams his eyes on the floor in a way that seems it should halt the show.

In the end, T.M.X. Elmo is undeniably a trooper. Early reviews show that this turbocharged version of Tickle Me Elmo will follow the stellar path enjoyed by his much simpler predecessor. --David Morel

From the Manufacturer
"T.M.X." Elmo will tickle America’s funny bone with three interactive tickle spots on his chin, tummy or toe. When kids tickle Elmo once on any of the tickle spots, he starts to laugh and slap his leg twice, then falls down into a sitting position and rocks himself back up to standing while laughing. When they tickle him a second time, he repeats the pattern even more, then sits down again and falls backwards onto his back and starts kicking his feet while laughing even harder. He then stands back up and asks to be tickled again. And on the third tickle he absolutely lets loose going through the first two patterns and then rolling over onto his tummy where he starts hitting the floor with his hand in gales of laughter, then rolling onto his back, standing up again, and ending with a deep sigh. Requires 6 "AA" batteries.

Customer Reviews

The laugh is great fun, the shedding fur not so much!4
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2WRZYZZOZKQIA TMX Elmo has a laugh that will make you laugh even if you don't want to. He keeps asking you to do it "Again, again" when you tickle him.. and when you tickle him again he screams with glee "You've done it again" and then starts rolling on the floor. It's hard not to laugh even if you know what it will do next. I bought it for work and I think it will be great to bring it out during those workshops when everyone works all day on presentations. It would be fun to offer to tickle the Elmo as a "prize" for a cool idea...the better the idea, the more you can tickle Elmo. Should bring back some fun to brainstorming! The only problem with this Elmo is that it does shed a little. Don't bring it near your winter white coat and you'll be ok!

Great for Adults....and kids5
I run a daycare center and bought one of these yesterday- mostly because I thought it would be a great thing to have on my desk- something for adults and children to play with while they were in my office. I pulled it out of the box, and it was ready to go- batteries included, and only 3 of those annoying wire ties to unloosen. I figure what fun is having him, if you don't play with him?
I got to see adults and children from the ages of 6 months to 9 years play with it. First, for the babies- it is an action toy that they want to put their hands on. However, if you do, you have to start him all over again. Some babies were petrified of the sudden movements that elmo made. Other babies couldn't wait to get their hands on it. Toddlers reacted the same way. I guess it will just depend on them. The older the kids were who interacted with elmo, the more they liked it, and could understand the humor in it.
Lastly, the people who liked this toy the most was the teachers, and parents. The belly laugh and the floor pounding was awesome. It made everyone laugh. Which was the point of my buying it. His laugh is contagious and cute, and although I usually find most elmo stuff annoying, this for some reason didn't get on my nerves at all. I just loved seeing the reaction that people had watching him. He will have a long life living on (or near) my desk.
Hope this helped you out if you were looking for a real life review of this toy... Good Luck!

Novelty wears off very quickly!3
My mom purchased the TMX Elmo for my 15 month old daughter. Not being the type of person to buy into toy-hype, I had absolutely no intention of buying one myself. Let me just begin by saying that Elmo is very funny when you first see and hear what he can do. It's funny for both adults and kids. My daughter LOVED him. . . . for maybe a week (at best!). I now have a $40 dust collector. She has totally lost interest in this toy. If you don't already have it, take your child over to a friend/neighbors house who does and let them play with it there. That will probably be as much time as they will play with it at your house anyway. If you absolutely MUST have it, by all means, buy it, but DON'T pay more than the MSRP for it. First off, it's SO not worth it. Second, don't make greedy people rich just to try and buy your child's happiness....there will be more in stores before Christmas obviously (do you really think Fisher Price wouldn't make enough to fill Christmas demand??? -- they're trying to make a profit too!)
