Call of Duty 4: Modern WarfareCall of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Buy used from: $20.50
Call of Duty 4 with the essential multiplayer experience on the system. After playing the newer Call of Duty 5, i can still say that i prefer it's predecessor much more. expect to loose a lot of hours blasting your way through european soldiers. this one is a winner.
Gears of War 2Gears of War 2
Buy new: $36.99 / Used from: $19.50
Gears of War 2 is another really stellar example of online gaming. it is a pretty straight forward experience, but fun none the less. lots of gore and fast-paced action.
Halo 3Halo 3
Buy new: $34.99 / Used from: $17.00
Halo 3 might be a bit of an acquired taste, but it has a very loyal fan-base. it's light-heart fun and is easy to jump in and out of.
Fallout 3Fallout 3
Buy new: $36.99 / Used from: $21.48
Fallout 3 is a very in-depth Action RPG that places players in the midst of a post-apocalyptic Washington DC. great story line and gameplay with lots of exploring and collecting. you can easily spend 100+ hours before you have even scratched the surface of all of the things that you can do. my pick for Game of The Year.
BioShockBioShock
Buy new: $19.49 / Used from: $13.48
Bioshock is an incredibly deep and engaging shooter that faces players with a lot of decisions. the characters are incredibly realized and its atmospheric and eerie tones make it a lot more like a movie than game. i had a lot of fun with this game, but a lot of people might not appreciate its subtleties.
Grand Theft Auto IVGrand Theft Auto IV
Buy new: $26.99 / Used from: $15.00
GTA IV might have been a bit over-hyped, but it is still a massive game. running around an entire city with a missile launcher and sub-machine gun terrorizing people and stealing cars is about as good as it gets.
The Orange BoxThe Orange Box
Buy new: $19.49 / Used from: $11.24
The Orange Box offers the best value of any game on the market. it includes the legendary Half-Life 2, it's two fallow-up titles (Ep. 1 and Ep. 2), Portal (excellent puzzle game), and an in-depth multiplayer game called Team Fortress 2. the fact that the graphics might not be up to par with most modern day games, but it really makes up for it with smart, innovative game-play.
Left 4 DeadLeft 4 Dead
Buy new: $29.79 / Used from: $21.75
another great game by Valve. Left 4 Dead pits players against a seemingly endless onslaught of zombies in teams of four. really focuses on teamwork. a lot of fun.
Soul Calibur IVSoul Calibur IV
Buy new: $15.49 / Used from: $14.64
my oddball choice. Soulcalibur 4 is the fourth entry in my favorite fighting game series, and does not disappoint. if you enjoy 3d fighters, this game won't disappoint. plus, you can pick Yoda, which is pretty sweet.
Rock Band 2Rock Band 2
Buy new: $19.49 / Used from: $15.79
not really my thing unless your playing with a group of people, but i can tell you that it is far better than the Guitar Hero series. a fun game to play with friends and family.
