Worth purchasing4
I thought this was a great book. It went into great detail about what to expect, organized neatly month by month. One of the main differences between this book and many others like it is the abundance of color photos. It also includes special sections on conception, diet and exercise, maternity rights, labor and birth, postpartum issues and a concerns and complication section. I bought many books on this subject including What to expect and The Pregnancy book. I thought both What to Expect and I'm pregnant were the better two. Some of the comments about this book baffled me. As a pro-lifer I didn't find anything in this book offensive. Termination was mentioned but in no way advocated. In my opinion, the author simply presented thorough discussions on most situations that might arise during pregnancy. I found this to be along the lines of the content you would find in any pregnancy book on the subject. I also didn't think the author was slanted towards midwifes either. The author is an OB herself. I don't feel either provider was advocated.

A Physician's View5
As a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist and a Geneticist I feel this is one of the best pregnancy guide books on the market. When my sister got pregnant I looked for a book that not only would answer her day to day questions about what was happening with her pregnancy, but would also address the what ifs about potential pregnancy complications. I found most of the books on the market to be too simple for a college educated, medically savy patient. In addition to containing up to date information about screening and diagnostic tests it has great pictures and is easy to read. I've since recommended the book to several of my patients. The only downfall (if you can call it that) is that the author is British so there pieces of the book that more accurately reflect the routines of prenatal care in the UK.

Great for first time 5
This book has been extremely helpful for my wife and I. On what to eat and how much exercise she needs. To why she is feeling the way she does and what is causing the nausea and other discomforts. This is our first child and is a learning experience for both, but this book has been a Godsend. Lot's of photos and helpful tips and information.
