Product Description

by Steve Dodge, assisted by Jeff and Jon Dodge This twentieth edition of the only annually updated cruising guide to Abaco includes two brand new charts of Abaco, and new or updated charts of islands and cays en route to Abaco including West End, Grand Bahama, Spanish Wells and Harbour Island, North Eleuthera and Bimini. Fourteen of the charts of Abaco have been substantially revised based on summer 2008 re-surveys. The accurate color charts based on original hydrographic research, color aerial photographs of all principal harbours, a proven system of GPS waypoints, inclusion of local knowledge, and excellent organization with clear and concise cruising directions on charts make this book the choice of most cruisers and the best selling guide to Abaco. Includes tide tables for 2009, marina maps, detailed snorkeling/diving charts, up-dated business directories for Abaco, articles on fishing, an offshore bathymetric fishing chart, a new lunar calendar, a guide to the dolphins and whales of Abaco, a brief history of Abaco, and helpful local advertising.

Don't leave home without it5
My wife and I and another couple recently spent a week at the Bahama Beach Club in Tresure Cay and rented a 22' boat for the week which we used for day trips to other islands throughout the week. Even though I have extensive boating experience and navigating the Abacos in a vessel that size is fairly straightforward, I found the Cruising Guide to be extremely useful when it came to planning trips to other islands to have lunch at other resorts, to visit other beaches, and to find great reefs for snorkeling. The guide is great when it comes to navigating into some of the harbors in the Abacos, as some of the approaches are not intuitive. Definitely well worth the money if you are planning a trip to the Abacos that will entail boating in the area (which I highly recommend-it's the only way to really take advantage of what the Abacos has to offer!) And if your vessel draws more than 3', I wouldn't go without it. I highly recommend it, it is and consistenly has been the definitive guide to cruising the Abacos.
