#1 Hit
This could be Aaliyahs best song by her I liked this song alot
it was very good all along and was just beautiful.
Lyrics 10/10 production 10/10
Aaliyah : exaulted one.
That's what Aaliyah means in Swahili .However, to me it means talent .Aaliyah sadly passed away about a month ago ,but her music remains with us. It is a shame she didn't achieve her full potencial in music that could have equaled or even eclipsed Britney Spears. But anyway ,I will tell you about her finest achievement....
1.Try Again - This hip hopera of musical talent that is a great example of Aaliyah and Timbaland's supremeness over R&B with just a hint of dance/techno in. Repetitive maybe ,but if you listen to it with an open mind, you will love it .4/5
2.Try Again (Timbaland Remix) - This is not really a remix, more of an extended mix with Timbaland adding his rapping touch to. This is a mixture of the instrumental and the original because some instruments get taken out and after about the 4th minute her vocals dissappear but the catchy beat stays in. Perfect for dancing or playing musical chairs to .5/5
3.Try Again (D'Jam Hassan Remix) - When I first got this I assumed D'Jam Hassan was going to be some guy turning this into an upbeat club hit. It is not. However it is still amazingly catchy. It's the same as the orignal apart from the beat (minus Timbaland's touch) and the repetitive instrument samples. Pleasantly surprised .5/5
4.Try Again (Instrumental) - This is the last track on the single .It has absoultely no vocals and loses the flare of the other tracks. The only consolation is the tune remains intact.3/5
In the end I think this single had potencial ,almost as much as her current , We Need A Resolution.Shame that before her untimely death she never went into ballads or club hits ,but one thing is certain. She was ,and still is the queen of R&B .
GOODBYE BROOKLYN'S ROSE
WHEN I FIRST HEARD THIS SONG (TRY AGAIN) ON NEW YORK RADIO, I HAD TO HAVE THE CD. I HAVE LISTENED TO THE CD MANY TIMES. I LOVE THE SONG. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND IT.
THE RECENT UNTIMELY TRAGIC DEATH OF THIS DIVA IS A LOSS THAT CANNOT EVER BE ADEQUATELY DESCRIBED IN WORDS. HOW CAN YOU MEASURE SUCH A SHORT LIFE AGAINST THE POTENTIAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS SHE COULD HAVE ACHIEVED HAD SHE LIVED? SHE WILL LIVE IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER. SHE TRUELY WAS BROOKLYN'S ROSE. NOW SHE IS IN HEAVEN, HER NAME BEING SPELLED OUT BY THE STARS. AND WHEN IT RAINS, ITS HER TEARS CRYING THAT SHE IS NO LONGER WITH US TO UNSELFISHLY SHARE HER LIFE. GOD BLESS YOU AALIYAH.
