Product Description

Tim Allen, John Travolta, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy star in Wild Hogs, the hysterically funny comedy about four weekend-warrior friends who decide to rev up their ho-hum suburban lives with a cross-country motorcycle adventure. They don their leathers, fire up their hogs and throw caution and their cell phones to the wind as they hit the open highway. A lot can happen on the road to nowhere, including a run-in with the bad-to-the-bone Del Fuegos, a real biker gang who don’t take kindly to the wannabes. Filled with hilarious misadventures, screwball situations and madcap mayhem, this laugh-out-loud comedy is a movie your whole family will go hog wild over.

A coming-of-age story starring a bunch of fiftysomething stars rather than teenage actors, Wild Hogs is a well-intentioned comedy starring John Travolta (Woody), Tim Allen (Doug), Martin Lawrence (Bobby), and William H. Macy (Dudley) as a group of Midwesterners facing their own versions of mid-life crises. They decide to escape their frazzled personal lives and rejuvenate themselves by taking a road trip on their slick hogs. But their journey is less Easy Rider than it is Three Amigos (plus one). As individual actors, each lead is a formidable star. But throw them all together into one crammed screenplay full of scatological humor and uncomfortable homosexual gags and it doesn't quite work. The actors spend so much time trying to outdo each other on screen that they aren't believable as friends, much less comrades. Walt Becker (National Lampoon's Van Wilder) offers minimal direction on a film that could've used some reining in, especially during scenes between Macy and Marisa Tomei (as a diner owner who inexplicably falls for him). There are promises of some interesting vignettes when Ray Liotta shows up as Jack, the leader of a real motorcycle gang. When Jack threatens to break Dudley's legs, Dudley counters, "I'm a computer programmer! I don't need my legs." Without missing a beat, Jack says, "Fine, we'll break his hands." It's not that the lines are so funny, but they way Liotta delivers them that adds some life to this flailing comedy. Unfortunately, his scenes with the rest of the cast are all too few. --Jae-Ha Kim

A Fun Roadtrip Flick!4
This is a fun movie about four everyday guys, known collectively as the "Wild Hogs", who decide to add a little adventure to their lives by taking a cross-country motorcycle road trip which turns out to be a little more adventure than they had originally considered when they cross paths with the notorious Del Fuegos gang.

The production opens nicely and moves along with a steady rhythm that kept me interested throughout the film. Humorously engaging with plenty of fun gags and cool special effects and a fun story too! A good "buddies" film to sit down to, "Wild Hogs" delivers.

I thought the cast did an excellent job. Martin Lawrence's wife was a pleasantly surprising choice for those of you who follow the who's worked with who thing. Keep watching as the credits roll, too.

I do highly recommend "Wild Hogs".

Wild Hogs is about four now-middle-aged friends whose one indulgence is their weekly motorcycle ride. Doug (Tim Allen) is a dentist with high cholesterol who hasn't been on a vacation in years. Bobby (Martin Lawrence) has taken a year off his job as a plumber to write a self-help book that still isn't finished, and his wife has just arranged for him to get his old job back. Dudley (William H. Macy) is a computer programmer who can't get a date... because he freezes around women. And Woody (John Travolta) is the one they all think has it all--a gorgeous model for a wife and a high-powered job.

But Woody's wife has left him, and he's lost his job, and he's broke. So he comes up with the idea for the four of them to take a cross-country bike trip.

The first half of the movie is just pure fun--depicting their misadventures in beginning the trip. Then they run across the Del Fuegos, a real motorcycle gang, led by Jack (Ray Liotta). Jack takes advantage of Dudley's naivete and steals his bike. They leave, with Dudley in a rusty sidecar, but then Woody, with nothing to lose, decides to get it back.

I'm not going to spoil how he does it, but from then on, Woody's on the run from the Del Fuegos, and simultaneously trying to hide that from the other Wild Hogs.

The climax comes in the little town of Madrid, where they all face what's bothering them and fix their lives--or at least start to. Dudley even finds a girl (Marisa Tomei).

Wild Hogs is full of laughs. And interestingly, it's not Allen and Lawrence who provide most of them. The four actors work well together, despite being vastly different types--or perhaps because of it. What made the movie even funnier for me is that we I someone who's very much like Dudley: very smart, socially inept, an inexhaustible font of trivia, but so full of goodwill and so oblivious to his effect on others that you just can't help liking him.

My only quibbles are that the conflict with the Del Fuegos was resolved a little too easily, and that Dudley's romance wasn't all that believable.

Mostly, it's a wonderfully feel-good movie. If you want a good laugh, and to escape for a couple of hours, I recommend it.

Great, Entertaining and Funny!5
Wild Hogs is one movie that didn't disappoint me. I wanted to see this ever since it came in the theaters and I was glad when I finally did. It's a wonderful film, perfect for the family except for some questionable language. Lawrence, Travolta, Allen and Macy rock in this unpredictable buddy comedy. Ray Liotta brings along his own set of laughs as an obsessed biker who plans to make the Hogs' lives miserable until he runs them out of his town. Soon, the bike trip they've planned to help them reclaim their youth is cut short by Liotta and his wicked gang. Liotta, who is upset that the Hogs' are not "real" bikers but pampered Suburbanites who are disrespecting his crew and other bikers by what he feels is them perpetrating. From that point all heck breaks loose. But the Hogs win the battle and soon prove to Liotta and his crew that there is only one type of gang that matters and it consists of friends sticking together which is more important than calling yourself a biker. I recommend this to anyone who loves to laugh and I hope that there is a sequel in the works! These four are the ultimate comedy team!
