As if there were any doubt, this February 11, 1964 show (just days after their triumphant debut on Ed Sullivan's TV show) proves that the Beatles were one rockin' little combo, whatever the situation. The sound was awful, the din of the audience almost constant. Also, the concert set-up was in-the-round--but only Ringo Starr's rickety little drum riser could rotate, so during several songs the other three Fabs were obliged to turn their backs on their own amps to face the rest of the audience! No matter; they roar through their eight-tune set with palpable, irresistible energy--just check out "I Saw Her Standing There." Sure, the black-and-white footage is grainy, and the audio's lousy. But this document of the group at their early peak is a must-have for true believers. Considerable file footage and audio clips from the period help fill out both the concert program and an accompanying trivia quiz. --Sam Graham

Live in Washington
To me.
Live in Toyko, is the BEST CONCERT EVER. IT IS SO GOOD, LOTS OF GOOD MUSIC AND THE BEATLES AT THEIR BEST.
Next to that. I love "Shea" I have both of them.
Washington is good, all black and white, and some of the shots are not as good as Shea, and Toyko, but it is the FIRST CONCERT
THE BEATLES EVER DID IN THE U.S.
SO.. FOR THAT REASON ALONE, YOU MUST HAVE THE FIRST CONCERT THE BEATLES
EVER DID IN THE U.S. IF YOU ARE A TRUE BEATLES FAN.
The First concert was Washington, and the last was San Fransico, Candlestick Park.
Now, I have Candlestick Park, and it is not that good, no good close ups but it is the Last thing they did together all four of them
on stage and it is worth having, for that reason.
I have most of their concerts live on film and I have the first one that last one.
So I would say this.
If. you love love love the Beatles and you are a devoted fan , then you must get.
Toyko
Shea
Washington
Hollywood Bowl
Candlestick Park.
Those are some of thier best.
And Washington is the first one ever they did with them as a group. so you must get it.
also, you must get the DVD of "Let it Be"
It is the Movie and the Rooftop scence is so good.
I enjoyed watching it over and over.
That is a must for your Beatles fans.
It is hard to get, Out of print, but if you can get it.
Grab it.
It is worth it.
Less than half the concert
I was disapointed with only getting 3 actual tracks from this concert and one from the Hollywood Bowl. I recently picked up a copy of Shea Stadium which included the DC concert of 11 songs. So don't buy this pay the extra and get the Shea Concert that includes DC as well, it's worth it.
MTV in BW with Quiz show in Color!
This is a Great Band's MTVs in black-and-white with quiz show in color!
You can enjoy this dvd as background music and Beatle-quiz software. But, if you expect the Excitement of their Marvelous Performance you can watch in the Anthology DVD, this one disappoints you for sure!
