On the Road to NashvilleOn the Road to Nashville by Erasure
Buy new: $17.98 / Used from: $10.23
This is a live album, recorded during Erasure's intimate acoustic tour. While I liked the acoustic arrangements for some of the songs, there were quite a few I didn't particularly enjoy (in fact, one or two of these acoustic arrangements outright scared me when I listened to them).
Light at the End of the WorldLight at the End of the World by Erasure
Buy new: $13.99 / Used from: $7.23
Erasure released a pretty solid studio album this year. Three singles were released from this album: "I Could Fall in Love With You," "Sunday Girl," and "Storm in a Teacup."
HourglassHourglass by Dave Gahan
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $2.81
This was a decent album, but it's one that you definitely have to sit down and actively listen to. It's not the kind of album you can just put into your CD player and let the music play in the background.
Absolute GarbageAbsolute Garbage by Garbage
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $11.49
This is a "greatest hits" album released by Garbage this year, which includes a new song. The new song, "Tell Me Where it Hurts," is pretty good. Also a good selection of singles here. This is a fairly strong greatest hits album.
This Delicate Thing We've Made (2 CDS)This Delicate Thing We've Made (2 CDS) by Darren Hayes
Buy new: $13.99 / Used from: $9.99
This is Darren's first album released as an independent artist, and it's a two-disc set. This album would've been stronger if it had been a single disc that included all of the strongest material that appears on the two discs. Quite a few of the songs feel like they should be B-sides instead of album cuts.
The Confessions Tour - Live from London (CD+DVD)The Confessions Tour - Live from London (CD+DVD) by Madonna
Buy new: $21.99 / Used from: $14.99
This is a CD/DVD package for Madonna's tour to promote the Confessions on a Dancefloor album.
The BlitzThe Blitz by Neuropa
Buy new: $12.99
Australian synthpop duo Neuropa released this album through A Different Drum in 2007.
Year ZeroYear Zero by Nine Inch Nails
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $5.89
This is a rather strong effort from Nine Inch Nails. I would have to say that it's better than With Teeth (the album released before Year Zero).
Y34RZ3R0R3MIX3D / [CD/DVD Combo]Y34RZ3R0R3MIX3D / [CD/DVD Combo] by Nine Inch Nails
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $8.96
This disc contains remixes of songs from the Year Zero album. The DVD includes tracks for the songs, so listeners can create their own remixes of the songs from Year Zero.
Stars and SirensStars and Sirens by Pristina
Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $8.95
This is a side project of Joey Belville from The Echoing Green. However, unlike The Echoing Green, this album features female vocals and chillout music.
The Disco and the What Not LTDThe Disco and the What Not LTD by Rupesh Cartel
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $13.35
This is the second album released by underground synthpop act Rupesh Cartel. This is definitely a progression from their first album, Mainland.
SystemSystem by Seal
Buy new: $13.99 / Used from: $6.49
For this album, Seal has gone back to his dance pop roots. While there are still ballads to be found on this album, you can definitely hear a return to the dance pop sound of Seal's 1991 album; however, the dance pop sound has been updated to sound modern, instead of sounding like it was recycled from 1991.
ZeitgeistZeitgeist by Smashing Pumpkins
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $4.98
This was the first new album The Smashing Pumpkins had released in seven years. Overall, it's not a bad disc. However, it's a little disappointing that it's only Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlain involved in the reunited Smashing Pumpkins.
No Dancing AllowedNo Dancing Allowed
Buy new: $9.99
This album was released by Section 44, and it definitely ranks as one of my favorite albums from 2007.
Traveling Wilburys (2 CD / 1 DVD)Traveling Wilburys (2 CD / 1 DVD) by The Traveling Wilburys
Buy new: $26.99 / Used from: $17.75
It was nice to finally see the Traveling Wilburys material reissued after being out of print for so many years!
Setup LTDSetup LTD by Virtual Server
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $12.63
This was the second album released by Virtual Server. It was released by underground synthpop label, A Different Drum.
Forever Young: Awesome 80s Slow DanceForever Young: Awesome 80s Slow Dance
Buy used from: $6.82
This was a pretty decent 80's compilation. It includes some classic ballads by Air Supply, Chris DeBurgh, Foreigner, Sheriff, Spandau Ballet, The Cars, Simply Red, Jeff Healey Band, Breathe, Alphaville, and more.
G CD Global 1G CD Global 1 by Various Artists
Buy new: $30.99 / Used from: $9.84
This was part of the last package of promo CDs we received for our internet radio station AeschTunes before we shut it down. It's a two-disc set released by Woobie Bear Music.
You Can Still Rock in America: 1980s RadioYou Can Still Rock in America: 1980s Radio by Sammy Hagar
Buy used from: $6.99
This compilation contians classic 1980s AOR cuts by Sammy Hagar, Pat Benatar, The Tubes, Night Ranger, Foreigner, and more.
NoelNoel by Josh Groban
Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $2.79
Had bought this for my mother-in-law as a Christmas present. It turned out she had already gotten another copy before opening our present. So we ended up acquiring it. Haven't actually listened to yet... probably will next holiday season.
