Great scale
The scale worked great for us. My husband is around 300 lbs, and it worked fine for him on the laminate floor in the kitchen. The only problem we've had was dropping a very heavy glass on it, which broke the plastic covering the numbers, but it still works fine. I also just got mine recently - maybe the person above got a bad scale?

It varies a little
I measure my weight on this scale by placing it on a flat wooden floor. If I move it a little, the weight reading is different. So, it is not consistent. The variation is close to a pound. The DVD is cool.

What a piece of JUNK
If only there were negative stars for rating this product. The first one I had right out of the box was dead. I bought a new battery and replaced the one from the factory - still totally dead. Returned it - got another one - out of the box it indicated that the battery needed to be replaced. Lucky me I just happened to have one. The scale seemed to work but the weight variation was terrible. My wife lost 13 pounds in one day - oops no she gained six pounds the next day. Trash day was today and I hope the seagulls enjoy it at the landfill
