my 2 and a half year old is not ready for water color yet
it's just too complicated for him to dip the brush in water, shake off the excess, dip it in the color and then onto the paper. and to not mix up the colors.
i bought it because this is the only type of "paint" i had access to as a child, and it was fun. i am sure my son will get used to it too, but a bit later.
that said, this product is good - it's attractive, easy to use and not pricey.
