Product Description

Does this idea sound familiar? It is! In response to the demand for another book like the popular original Zero Prep, only geared to the needs of beginning language students, the authors have created this dynamic second title! Whether your beginning students are eager from the start--or reluctant at first--you’ll find activities for helping you create wonderful lessons without exhausting yourself. As beginners cannot yet create new language, but they can re-create and reformulate language that they encounter, these activities give many ways to provide language input, including routines for using readings, dictations, pictures, actions, and songs to convey meaning. Plus you’ll find activities to help students get to know each other, find their own errors, and take charge of their own learning! Perfect for group or individual work, this volume is another must-have in your library of resources!

Don't buy a ridiculously overpriced used book!4
There is absolutely NO reason to pay the unconscionable price set by the used book dealer for this title. Just go to www.altaesl.com and buy direct from the publisher -- you can get both this title and the original higher-level one TOGETHER for $45 plus shipping.

For ESL, not foreign language3
This book has 6 chapters, Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, Vocabulary, and Structure. It does have TPR activities in it. I bought it hoping for ideas for a foreign language class. Most of the ideas are designed for English. This book has more activities for younger students, say upper elementary to high school, than the other Zero Prep book by Pollard. I saw only two activities that were repeated in the other Zero Prep book.

Super for busy ESL teachers5
There are times when we want activities that don't take forever to prepare that we don't have to source. This book is loaded with great ideas with minimal preparation. I use them with my beginning literacy class and have recommended the book to other colleagues. Well written with ideas the students enjoy.
