Product Description

Even since Dean was first established in 1976 in Chicago, the company has been making some of the industry’s leading guitars. The thirty plus years since that beginning have brought a lot of changes to the company as well as to guitar technology, and Dean has responded with a range of innovative instruments exhibiting the consistent quality that has made their guitars popular with many musicians. From Dave Mustaine of Megadeth to the jazz bassist Jeff Berlin, Dean continues to supply some of the top musicians with a variety of guitar choices.

The Dean PE-QM-TGE Concert Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar has a comfortable mini-jumbo body design, providing gorgeous looks and rich sound, along with typically innovative Dean designs. The PE-QM-TGE features a beautifully quilted maple top, back and sides, green abalone rosette, and the Dean-designed ebony bridge. The cutaway style allows for full access to the fast Dean fretboard, and permits you the best of both worlds--to have the feel of a true electric without forgetting that you still have the warmth of an acoustic in your hands. And with the Elan-4TN electronics with 3-band EQ and a built-in tuner, the guitar becomes instantly stage-ready, so you're able to plug-in and play. If you are looking for an affordable guitar that plays like one well above its price, then Dean's Performer is a great choice.

Customer Reviews

Very happy4
Got mine for $180 as a lightning deal.

It arrived 3 days early.

It was a bit hard to fret and made my fingers hurt which also made it harder to slide. As mentioned it just needed the bow adjusted out of it. It plays fine now. Stays in tune well.

The sound is very nice leaning toward the base. While it came with decent strings mine had some dings and a little corrosion. I've never bought a guitar through the mail that didn't though and usually replace them first thing.

The finish is darker than pictured making the beautiful grain a little hard see other wise it's flawless, abelone inlay and all.

Note: Remember to turn the preamp/tuner off. I accidentally drained the battery the first week.

Good guitar for the discount price4
Got this guitar during a Goldbox deal for $179.
The guitar has a nice quality and finish. The neck can be adjusted with an adjustable truss rod (and it needs to since mine came with a slight bow in the middle). The strings are D'Addario and good quality as well.
The built-in tuner works well, it is powered by a 9V battery (included). The ELAN-4TN preamp has 5 knobs for Bass, Middle, Treble, Presence and Volume all of which may be recessed into the unit.
The guitar sounds really good for the price and should please all amateur players.

nice guitar5
Can't complain, $179.00 OTD. Worth the money. nice sound. Put some light gauge ELIXER strings on it and adjusted the action and I'm happy with it. Just to let you know, this guitar is not made in USA. Made in CHINA. But so is everything else these days. CHINA did a good job as far as I can see.
