I was going nuts one morning with my teens, steam coming out of my ears. I told my husband, "If you love me, you'll get me this book, right now!" He did. Within minutes of getting this book in my hands I was laughing. I understood that things were going right on schedule. The insanity I was experiencing was exactly as my teens should be, right on schedule. Highly recommended, start here.

Please Stop the Rollercoaster!: How Parents of Teenagers Can Smooth Out the RidePlease Stop the Rollercoaster!: How Parents of Teenagers Can Smooth Out the Ride by Sue Blaney
Buy new: $29.95 / Used from: $13.38
This is a workbook. If you have a group of parents and want to learn & explore together, author Blaney's got a system for you. For me this book is not a "sit-down-have-a-conversation-with-an-author" kind of book. You have to roll up your sleeves and get to work. Great for a community of parents of teens. The author also has leader guides available at her website (same as the title of the book).
You Don't Have to Learn Everything the Hard WayYou Don't Have to Learn Everything the Hard Way by 'Aunt' Laya Saul
Buy new: $14.97 / Used from: $11.04
This is the book I wrote for teens. Parents have read this book out loud with their teens or left a copy in their teen's room. You are trying to sell your kids on making healthy choices, but they need to hear it from other sources too. This is where "Aunt Laya" can come in handy. Great gift idea for your kidÂ’s friends as well.
Yes, Your Parents Are Crazy!: A Teen Survival GuideYes, Your Parents Are Crazy!: A Teen Survival Guide by Michael J. Bradley
Buy new: $10.17 / Used from: $3.94
If you're going to buy the book for parents by the same author, the kid version, just for the title and cover comic alone are worth it. We have to remember we can appear just as nuts to our kids. Author Bradley gives it to kids straight. Both of my teens have flipped through this book for themselves and I'm really glad I have it on hand for them.
