Essential for the diaper bag, both for soiled diapers and wet clothes. We also use the Mommy's Touch diaper pail liner as a laundry bag/diaper pail. It's water proof and contains odors well, as long as you do the wash regularly.

You probably won't need this many in newborn size, but we're really happy with Seventh Generation diapers. Chlorine-free, great absorbency, extremely trim fit on baby, and no leaks with these or the next size up. Even if you're using cloth diapers, it's great to have these for back-ups when you're out and about or just too exhausted for laundry.

We'd recommend most Burt's Bees baby products. Our little one loves the smell of the Baby Bee Buttermilk Lotion for his after-bath massage. We shower with him and found that the Baby Bee BAR SOAP is much better than creams--use it one-handed, no bottles to open and drop. Plus, if you shower with baby, you'll want to protect him by using baby soap on yourself as well.

Enormous, but great for baby. Contoured for both infants and toddlers, and deep enough to keep baby warm while safely supported.

Get two of these! Swaddle baby in a receiving blanket, then wrap him in one of these and he won't wriggle free during the night. Yay, velcro! Once he's bigger/the weather's warmer, these do the trick on their own.

We love this tasteful, well-designed bag. Lots of pockets and easy access to what's inside with a hard body exterior to keep contents from getting crunched. Found one for a steal at TJ Maxx.

Our son loved this carrier from the first. At less than a month old we were taking him erranding, walking, and even hiking in this pack. It's his favorite place to nap. If he has trouble sleeping, we put him in here and he's out in no time.
