My personal opinion, after a lot of research and a year with the bugaboo, is that you don't need a stroller until they're about 6 months old. Until then, use the car seat and the graco snap n' go. Shopping for a stroller is fun but if you can resist for a while, you'll probably be happier.

only useful if you have a wide, single basin sink that this will fit into or when you're ready to wash them in the tub. Only good until 18lbs.

This is the best kit out there. The nasal aspirator really works well -- and you will need it, sadly. Depending on how you decide to take temps, you might want a different thermometer.

OK, so these might not be great for the environment but they're great for you: easy, reliable, comfy. If you want to do something more environmentally conscious, you might consider waiting until the baby is sleeping through the night. The the first few months, you're going through 10-15 diapers a day... and you're operating on literally NO sleep. It's a disaster waiting to happen.

No need to get the fancier diaper cream -- it doesn't work any better so why spend extra money?

Definitely get this or something like it. As hideous as it is, babies, they like the crazy.

This is the best sleep sack, IMHO, because it zips down instead of up, meaning that there's no bulky zipper end under the baby's chin. Also, if the baby gets too hot at night, it's easy to unzip and let her toes peek out a bit... and easy to unzip a bit to change her without totally waking her up.

A little bulky but very deluxe park blanket... gotta get the kids outside, right?

When they get a bit bigger, you'll want this. It's super comfy, very useful and apparently much better for the little one than a baby bjorn -- something about not putting too much pressure on the spinal cord or something. I just find it much, much more comfy bc it's got a waist strap, which takes the pressure off your shoulders.

This is infinitely useful, and looks cool too. The bottle brush will break in about 5 minutes, so you need the next item on the list.

We love our high chair... it's nice looking, small, flexible and convertible as the kid grows. No huge plastic nastiness...
