Product Description

Black activist Erica Johnson wears her causes on her sleeve—literally. With her class of beloved fourth graders depending on her to represent their concerns, Erica's ready to confront golden-boy conservative senator Mark Newman. And she's willing to suffer through a night in jail and a battle of wits with a real-life war hero, if it will help get the children the money they need.

Mark Newman's a worthy adversary. But there's a more human side to the ambitious politician with the dreamy blue eyes—from the physical pain of his war wound, to his grief over his wife's death. Though they disagree on every hot-button issue, Erica and Mark can't resist their attraction or ignore the unfinished business between them—much to the delight of those trying to use this new relationship against the senator. And when Erica starts receiving some particularly vicious hate mail she has to decide if this handsome dream from the right/wrong side of the political fence is worth risking her heart for . . . and maybe her life.

Customer Reviews

Nothing Special (it was passible) 3
In this sometimes over-the-top book, it was interesting to see how political ideology can dominate a love story. Erica and Mark were willing to move beyond race and politics to develop a believable story which held my interest without being bored. I even liked the secondary story with their closest friends.

WOW!!5
I absolutely loved this book. It was very believable and the characters also came to life throughout the book. I like books with great description, and that can keep the story-line going without losing the interested of the reader.

As I was reading I could visually see these people, I felt what they felt, I understood them as if I truly knew them in life.

I would recommend this book to anybody interested in a inter-racial romance, or just a romance novel. This includes some politics too, but its not overwhelming or boring.

Solid read4
This book was laugh out loud funny. I enjoyed both of the leads. Usually when I read novels like this I find myself concentrating on romance and ignoring the mystery/job/procedural part. With this novel, it wasn't necessary. Both of their careers and the issues stemming from it were actually interesting.

My ONE complaint is this book needed more sex. It was a glaring omission for a romance novel and the reason I only gave it 4 stars. Otherwise, I highly recommend Unfinished Business.

BTW, it was well edited, I found no syntax, grammatical, or spelling errors and the story and characters were well developed.
