Battlestar Galactica's season 2.5 (i.e., the final 10 episodes of the second season, plus an extended version of episode 10) picks up where season 2.0 (the first 10 episodes) left off: Galactica's giddy reunion with the Pegasus had taken a sour turn when Admiral Cain (Michelle Forbes) went back on her word to Commander Adama (Edward James Olmos) and decided to integrate the crews, moving Apollo (Jamie Bamber) and Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff) to Pegasus. The animosity, combined with an attack on Sharon (Grace Park), threatens to derail a golden opportunity for the fleet to strike the Cylons where they'll hurt, and stay hurt--their resurrection ship.

In many ways, Sharon is the central character. The attack lands Helo (Tahmoh Penikett) and the Chief (Aaron Douglas) in hot water; her impending baby remains the subject of heated debate among president Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell), Commander Adama, and others; and a rebellious movement determined to force Galactica to give up the Cylon ends up threatening both Apollo and Starbuck and putting further strain on their already-shaky relationship. Dr. Baltar (James Callis) becomes even more intertwined with the Cylons when he discovers another version of Number Six (Tricia Helfer) on the Pegasus, but is also in line to take over the presidency as Roslin's cancer reaches a critical stage. Battlestar Galactica's inexorable dramatic arc sagged in a couple episodes during this run, but the terrific two-part season finale involving a presidential election, a glimmer of hope for humanity, and some unexpected turns of events makes for a thrilling springboard to season 3. Battlestar is often called the best sci-fi show on television, but that seems like damning it with faint praise; it's the best drama on television.

In addition to the 10 episodes, the three-DVD set has an extended version of the last episode of season 2.0, "Pegasus"; the extra 15 minutes include a longer conversation in which Cain reveals her plans to Adama. That episode has a commentary track by executive producers Ronald D. Moore and David Eick, Moore's podcast commentaries are on every other episode, Eick's "video blogs" serve as casual featurettes on series production, and there are numerous deleted scenes. --David Horiuchi

Got some problems with this show3
Okay, I have to say I love the show but I am only giving it 3 stars. One person or a group or writers for this show needs to be fired! I just watched part of the episode where Galatica reunits with Pegasus. There is a sceen with Sharon vary nearly being raped. This sceen goes past anything I have ever witnessed. It is an outrage to see for the second time, something so vial to be aired on this show. The first vial sceen goes back to Dr. Baltar decompressing in his lab. That too was just plain pornographic material. Explain how this garbage is getting put into the show. The show is awesome without this. What can we normal people out there do to get this kind of garbage removed. To boycott the show is not the answer. We need to get the TV and movie industry to hear that we don't want this. I can't let my son watch a moment of this show. What was once a family TV show is now rated R or worse. What has happened to our society that movie makers think we want this? I want to go back to the good days when we could all sit down and enjoy a TV show together.

BSG seasons 1 thru 3 - good warm up for the FINAL season ...5
I've seen each and every episode on the Sci-Fi channel, plus the extras online. I bought seasons 1 thru 3, plus the "Razor" and the "Miniseries".

WOW! Can't leave the couch! Watching this series WITHOUT commercials is a true gift! Already into the 4th (and final) season, and can't wait for the DVD set!!!!

BTW - did you know that BSG won a "Peabody" award for their writing? W2G BSG!!!!

If you're a sci fi fan, then WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

If you're NOT a sci-fi fan, then GET ON THE BANDWAGON and watch the BEST dramatic (sci-fi) series EVER on TV.

I kid you NOT. This show ROCKS!!!!

Battlestar Galactica Season 2.55
My daughter gave me season 1 as a present, so I got hooked. Season 2 and 2.5 simply make this one of the best T.V. Series ever. One does have to see the series from its inception to fully appreciate season 2.5-with that said, season 2.5 has all of the action, drama, and compelling interplay that make this show a hit. In these episodes, Galactica encounters another battlestar that survived the cyclon attack. The commander, Admiral Kane and her crew behave in contradistinction to the dignity of the galactica crew; indeed, Kane is characterized as ruthless, rigid, and inflexible regarding the cylons, and her plans for survival of the crew and humanity. Her performance and the characterization of her crew make for riveting television. In short-anyone who has not seen this series should run to Amazon or a nearby store and order the series-you will have no regrets!!!
