By an Amazon.com customer
The Princess DiariesThe Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot
Buy new: $24.95 / Used from: $10.45
I recommend any book that has Meg Cabot's name on the front, such as the Princess Diaries series, All American Girl and its sequel Ready or Not, all the random non-series ones such as Teen Idol, How To Be Popular, avalon High, Pants On Fire, and Jinx, as well as her adult books which are just as entertaining.
Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1)Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1) by Stephenie Meyer
Buy new: $6.04 / Used from: $5.00
I was weary of "wasting my money" on some creepy book about vampires, but this book has proved itself to be so much more. While it is about vampires, they are lovable, and the book will be impossible to forget, just as the rest of the series is. The fourth book comes out in August, and the movie in December. Can't wait!
Where the Heart Is (Oprah's Book Club)Where the Heart Is (Oprah's Book Club) by Billie Letts
Buy new: $11.16 / Used from: $0.01
I first saw this movie and loved it, and to my pleasure found out it was based off of a book, which I found out is even better than the movie.
Gossip Girl #1: A Novel (Gossip Girl Series)Gossip Girl #1: A Novel (Gossip Girl Series) by Cecily Von Ziegesar
Buy new: $8.79 / Used from: $0.01
Gossip Girl is by far my favorite filty rich mean girl book out there, and there are oodles of them now. The series featuring our favorites Serena and Blair has 10 books, as well as a prequel, and there is now a second round of rich kids taking over the scene in the Gossip Girl Carlyles series, which while they are just not the same as the first, they are equally worth reading.
Girls in TrucksGirls in Trucks by Katie Crouch
Buy new: $14.95 / Used from: $2.88
Girls in Trucks was a book I picked up on a whim with its dust jacket sounding a lot like The OC, one of my favorite shows to view in re-runs, but in Charleston, somewhere closer, and more relatable to my home. This book was amazing, and lingers long after you finish it.
The It Girl (It Girl #1)The It Girl (It Girl #1) by Cecily von Ziegesar
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $0.01
The It Girl series is a spin-off of Gossip Girl featuring Jenny Humphrey and her boarding school escapades. With different characters but that same glitzy vibe, this series won't disappoint.
The Nanny Diaries: A NovelThe Nanny Diaries: A Novel by Emma Mclaughlin
Buy used from: $0.01
The Nanny Diaries movie proved to me to be one of the more accurate book to movie creations, so if you liked the movie, grab the book because they are super similar, and in many instances, conversations and thoughts of Nanny are word for word.
Nick & Norah's Infinite PlaylistNick & Norah's Infinite Playlist by Rachel Cohn
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $4.40
I longed for this book for months before finally getting a copy at last, and though it wasn't exactly what I expected in size, it made up for itself in content. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fast paced read. I can't wait for the movie!
Two-way StreetTwo-way Street by Lauren Barnholdt
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $5.52
I loved the format of the book, where it tells from the guy, Jordan's point of view, as well as the girl, Courtney's, in alternating chapters. While this is going on, the time also flip-flops, with some of the story currently happening, and some chapters happening months back, leading up to the current state. It's like 2 stories inside 2 stories...Two Way Street, go figure.
Lost ItLost It by Kristen Tracy
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $4.42
This was the other book I randomly purchased along with Two Wat Street and it also impressed me greatly. While the cover's picture leads you to think of one definition of "losing it," the book revolves around everyone's losing of something, most frquently, and hilariously, their minds. The ending leaves you hanging, so perhaps there will be a sequel?
The A-ListThe A-List by Zoey Dean
The A-List is another addictive series about how the other side lives. It's very similar to Gossip Girl, so if you're looking for something different, so elsewhere, butttt if you want more drama, glamour, and backstabbing, go for it with this series.
The LuxeThe Luxe by Anna Godbersen
Buy new: $12.23 / Used from: $2.32
This series is sort of like Gossip Girl, but a hundred or so years ago, and while it sounds like something you'd be forced to read at school, it's very enjoyable with tons of scandal.
Go Ask AliceGo Ask Alice by Anonymous
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $3.99
There are tons of books out there where teens are taken into other worlds where their lives turn upside down, but this book seems like it's one of the originals, and I would recommend it. Another good, but similar book I've read is Crank.
Summer in the CitySummer in the City by Elizabeth Chandler
Buy new: $5.99 / Used from: $0.01
Summer in the City is such a cute book that you should totally check out. Its ending is pretty predictable, as are most of its kind, but read it anyways...it's great!
The Au PairsThe Au Pairs by Melissa de la Cruz
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $0.01
You can never read enough about the rich, apparently, because here's another awesome series featuring just that. I definitely recommend these books, which are kind of like Gossip Girl meets the Nanny Diaries. Another series that I have bought the first book in but haven't read yet that seems similar is the Confessions of a Teen Nanny series.
Dairy QueenDairy Queen by Catherine Murdock
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $0.01
This book was somewhat slow to me at first, but it progressed into a very enjoyable book, and now has a sequel called the Off Season.
Perfect YouPerfect You by Elizabeth Scott
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $4.85
I received an advance copy of this book from Simon and Schuster, and if you go on their website, you can get books like this one before they come out. Perfect You is an enjoyable book that actually has depth, like Scott's other novel I have read, and also recommend, Bloom.
Prey (Lurlene McDaniel)Prey (Lurlene McDaniel) by Lurlene Mcdaniel
Buy new: $8.61 / Used from: $5.30
This book was an eye in the peephole of student/teacher relationships out of the classroom. While men always come off as the teacher predators, this book is just the opposite, and tells the story from the point of views of the student, teacher, and a concerned friend.
The Dating DiariesThe Dating Diaries by Kristen Kemp
Buy used from: $0.01
I read this book a few years ago, then reread it recently. It's a very realistic book in my opinion, with your normal, everyday people.
The Queen of Second PlaceThe Queen of Second Place by Laura Peyton Roberts
Buy new: $5.99 / Used from: $0.01
I checked this book out at school and it was a hilarious read. If you like it, also look into its sequel, Queen B, and another of its author's books, which is called Ghost of A Chance.
My Life As a Snow BunnyMy Life As a Snow Bunny by Kaz Delaney
Buy new: $5.99 / Used from: $0.01
My Life As A Snow Bunny is a quick, cute book, and a nice one to read in the winter in front of a cozy fire.
This LullabyThis Lullaby by Sarah Dessen
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $1.68
Sarah Dessen is an amazing author, and as someone who's read every single one of her books, I can't pick an absolute favorite, as they are all awesome, but This Lullaby is definitely recommended.
Inside the Mind of Gideon RayburnInside the Mind of Gideon Rayburn by Sarah Miller
Buy new: $7.16
This is a hilarious work with narration by a girl who knows all of a guy, Gideon Rayburn's thoughts while being educated in more ways than one at boarding school.
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (Sisterhood of Traveling Pants, Book 1)Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (Sisterhood of Traveling Pants, Book 1) by Ann Brashares
Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $0.01
This is the first of the four books in the series, with each book told from the point of view of one of the sisters. My favorite book personally is the 2nd, butttt they are all amazing.
South BeachSouth Beach by Aimee Friedman
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $0.01
This is a fast paced book about a trip between old friends and new guys. Also look into sequels French Kiss and Hollywood Hills.
Forever . . .Forever . . . by Judy Blume
Buy used from: $5.49
This book is not exactly by the same Judy Blume as the woman who wrote Double Fudge, but at the same time it is. This book is an honest take on a once in a lifetime experience.
The Year My Life Went Down The LooThe Year My Life Went Down The Loo by Katie Maxwell
Buy new: $5.99 / Used from: $0.01
This is also the first in a hilarious series with a main character who gets shuffled around according to her parents' jobs.
StargirlStargirl by Jerry Spinelli
Buy used from: $0.01
Stargirl is an interesting story about a very eccentric girl who calls herself, yep you guessed it, Stargirl. This book is narrated by Leo, and there is also a sequel, Love, Stargirl, and the whole book is a letter from Stargirl to Leo.
Go FigureGo Figure by Jo Edwards
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $0.01
I adored this book for many reasons, one of which being very real characters. It's very funny but also very eye-opening to low self-esteem.
The Insiders (Inside Girl)The Insiders (Inside Girl) by J. Minter
Buy new: $8.95 / Used from: $0.01
There's about a million of these now, and this is the only one I've read. It's kind of like Gossip Girl but more like Gossip Boy.
How to Be BadHow to Be Bad by E. Lockhart
Buy new: $11.55 / Used from: $1.65
This book was one that drew me in from the start thanks to a list of authors I love. The book definitely did not disappoint!
What My Mother Doesn't KnowWhat My Mother Doesn't Know by Sonya Sones
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $0.01
What My Mother Doesn't Know is a very fast read, and is kind of similar to Crank, because both are written in a poetic format. The book is super good, and now, like everything else, has a sequel, called What My Girlfriend Doesn't Know. I also recommend the author's other books.
Fake ID (Hunted)Fake ID (Hunted) by Walter Sorrells
Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $0.01
I grabbed this one day at the library and it was so suspenseful I read it all in a couple of hours. It's not the type of book I normally read, but I'm definitely interested in reading its sequel.
Art Geeks and Prom Queens: A NovelArt Geeks and Prom Queens: A Novel by Alyson Noel
Buy new: $8.95 / Used from: $0.01
I read this book as well as Faking 19, and both were quite good books to sit around and read. The author has some other books too, but the only one I can think of is Laguna Cove.
PeachesPeaches by Jodi Lynn Anderson
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $0.01
This book was kind of like Dairy Queen, not in plot, but it seemed kind of slow. At the same time, it was another book that makes you glad you read it in the end. It has one sequel that I know of.
The Perks of Being a WallflowerThe Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
Buy new: $11.20 / Used from: $7.27
I had been wanting to read this for so long but never gotten around to it, and finally borrowed it from a friend. It wasn't exactly what I expected but it was still just as good, if not better. Beware of a shocking ending!
Sloppy Firsts: A NovelSloppy Firsts: A Novel by Megan McCafferty
Buy new: $11.16 / Used from: $1.79
The Jessica Darling series, which has 4 books, is an awesome take on the life of a teenager becoming an adult. I recommend them all.
Frozen RodeoFrozen Rodeo by Catherine Clark

I've read this book a couple times now, and I still love it! the ending is hilarious and exciting, and it's an all-around good book worth looking into.
