![]() | The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (20th Anniversary Edition)
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $11.99 See Terry Gilliam make what could've been a great movie, but needed another rewrite or two. Still visually amazing, but fatally flawed plot-wise.
|
![]() | A.I. - Artificial Intelligence (Widescreen Two-Disc Special Edition)
Buy new: $8.49 / Used from: $1.74 See Steven Speilberg make a film by Stanley Kubrick! Beautiful to look at and very touching, but ultimately fatally flawed, with a confusing ending that went on far too long.
|
![]() | Batman (Two-Disc Special Edition)
Buy used from: $21.99 See Michael Keaton as the Dark Knight! Fascinating to look at with atmosphere out the wazoo. I'll give this film credit for changing the Batman franchise and moving it away from the 1960's TV series, but that's about it. It had its good points, but and unfocused plot and joyless atmosphere dragged it down.

![]() | Bicentennial Man
Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $5.45 See Robin Williams become an android who becomes Robin Williams! Very badly advertised as a family film, this movie fails to capture the elegence of Asimov's story, but the first hour is brilliant.
|
![]() | Hulk (Widescreen 2-Disc Special Edition)
Buy new: $10.49 / Used from: $0.95 See Ang Lee make a psychological thriller about two abused children trying to be successful adults! People went in wanting "Hulk SMASH!" and instead got "Hulk need therapy!" Dragged down by a pointless comic-book feel, but still worth seeing.
|
![]() | The Last Action Hero
Buy new: $9.49 / Used from: $1.22 See Arnold Schwarzenegger in a parody of Schwarzenegger films! Advertised as a straight action film, this is in fact a very funny comedy with some great satire. In the end it fails, but at least it fails well.
|
![]() | Superman II - The Richard Donner Cut
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $6.43 See the second Superman movie as the director intended! Marvel at the amazing improvements in an already solid film! Tremble with excitement at a better set of fight sequences! Cry with sorrow at a much better-developed romantic subplot! Then shriek with rage at the horrible ending! Another movie that should've ended ten minutes before it did.
|
![]() | Star Trek - The Motion Picture: The Director's Cut (Two-Disc Special Collector's Edition)
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $3.76 See Oscar winner Robert Wise crash the Enterprise into an iceberg! Well, not quite. This movie is largely boring, but it explores some of the most amazing themes since "2001" and is beautiful to look at.
