An exciting picture book/novel that depicts an adventurous story about an orphaned boy, Hugo, living in a 1930s train station. We become emerged into the fun, and unknown experiences of Hugo. Selznick's ability to seamlessly incorporate the text and detailed picture as a fluid story is remarkable- spectacular illustrations. Although long, it’s a smooth and relatively quick read.

Great book! It’s the best book for a child, who is just capturing the essence of reading. The picture book is fun, creative, exciting, colorful, and easy to understand. I still remember reading Go, Dog. Go! before bed or right after school outside on the porch. Give your child the opportunity of feeling successful with their reading abilities, while having a great time, with Go, Dog. Go!

It teaches the importance of strength, stamina, and spirit. The American Girl series should be on every girl’s bookshelves! It’s fabulous!

This Newbery Winner was one of my absolute favorite books from my childhood. It’s an exhilarating novel about a boy named, Brian Robeson, who experiences everyone’s worst fears, a plane crash being completely alone in the middle of nowhere with nothing except a hatchet to keep him alive. The novel is an excellent read. This was the first book that instilled some fear and imagination of me.
