You are not going to believe this!!!
I enjoyed this film in so many ways it is hard for even me to believe. First, let's start out with the obvious: the sex scenes. There are plenty here, many of which seriously border on hard-core porn. But what makes these scenes work incredibly well is that these couples genuinely like one another. The sexual chemistry is amazing! There are coy glances with authentic smiles and passion abounds! I have no way of comparing the rated version with the one here (which I proudly own), but this particular version is scalding! But if that's all there was to recommend this film (yes, I called this a "film") then I would not have given it 5 stars. There is a good story to go along with the steamy scenes, one with elements of the well-known film "Risky Business" starring Tom Cruise. There is even an antique egg that gets damaged; not to mention a certain catch-phrase from the movie that I am not allowed to write here. All these things would surely be enough....but there's more! I was absolutely stunned by the clever editing techniques and professional direction from John Quinn. I will be going in search of more of his films very soon, his work is that good. Never in my life did I think I would give a soft-core porn film a 5-star rating. But here it is. The sexual encounters are hot, the acting is surprisingly solid, the direction and overall filmmaking is first-rate, and there is even a good and often humorous storyline. I cannot recommend this film highly enough. Outstanding!
Whoa! Maria Ford in porn!
Although this movie is technically softcore, Maria's scenes border on hardcore. There is lot of contact between her and her fellow actors and actresses (if you catch my meaning). In fact, this is probably the most explicit softcore film you will find. Which gives me hope as to what Maria may have to do to top it.
Reasonably Good
With a title like "The Key To Sex" one might surmise, that this is some kind of sexual instruction guide. Well it's not, it's a fairly good soft porn movie. The key in the title is the key to movie producer, Alan's flashy Malibu home, which is kept hidden under a ceramic frog.. Alan, who has to go on a weeklong business trip, leaves the care of his home, in his personal assistant Simon's, hands, with instructions not to let anyone in. Unfortunately events work against Simon's good intentions and the home becomes week long house of copulation.
First, the office receptionist, Carrie (Jeannie Millar) a hot brunette, whom Simon (Scott Carson) has dreams about, asks if he's going to throw a party, leading Simon to improvise, so the spur of the moment, he invites his roommate Matt to come and bring a girl. Matt brings Ring, (Jacquelline Lovell) a stripper and the tone is set for an erotic evening.
The next night Simon's boss's philandering partner, Michael, (Christian Malmin) pulls rank on Simon and demands access to Alan's home for a rendezvous with Tina, (Monique Parent), then the next day Simon finds the key under the ceramic frog missing and the front door unlocked. When he enters he finds Alan's girlfriend Christy, (Maria Ford) out by the pool, engaged in a lesbian interlude.
Things continue on like this for awhile with Michael coming out as a snake, juggling mistress's with girlfriends and eventually, with Simon's help, being caught.

CONCLUSION
Personally, for an erogenous soft-core skin flick, I didn't find The Key to Sex to be overly stimulating, which considering the positive elements of the film is surprising.
The story, as a whole was one of the better ones I've seen for this genre, the ladies were comely, as well as shapely and the sets were relatively realistic. The direction, editing and cinematography were all good. The cast was well chosen and the acting, for a soft-core film was good to excellent. There was plenty of nudity and I believe eight or nine sex scenes, although all seemed less than real and not very passionate. More like they were going through the motions. Overall I give this film high marks but not quite 5 stars. For those who enjoy erotica, I recommend The Key to Sex with a 4.25 rating
