Editorial Reviews
From the Publisher
This book is much more than a book that teaches children about autism. It uses informative narrative and engaging activities to help them develop understanding, compassion, and appreciation for people different from themselves. It lets them use their imagination and journal exercises to more fully comprehend some of the challenges people with autism might face. It also empowers children by helping them understand the power of their actions and how they can be a good friend to others.
This book is the third in a refreshing and unique series by author Ellen Sabin. Her other books include The Giving Book: Open the Door to a Lifetime of Giving and The Hero Book: Learning Lessons From the People You Admire.
From the Author
The seed for this book was planted when the father of a child with autism read my other books and suggested that my format might be used to improve the quality of life of children with autism by educating their peers. With the support and advice from top experts in character education and autism, as well as the input of teachers and parents, I hope I created a book that can support children, families and classrooms.

Customer Reviews
Very well written.
This book not only helped my daughter come to terms with her Aspergers diagnosis positively, it helped her better understand her autistic little brother. She now views her Aspergers as the asset that it is, rather than a weakness. Bravo to the authors of this book! Well done!
Valuable "walk in their shoes" book
This is an excellent book to present to a classroom to help the students understand the persepctive and behavior of a peer who has autism. It raised many good questions from the students, and increased their understanding and tolerance of their peer's differences.
Autism for kids
Book is good. It seems appropriate for kids who are in kindergarten or older.
