With the same wicked humor and delicious charm that have won her millions of devoted fans, Sophie Kinsella, author of the #1 New York Times bestseller Shopaholic & Baby, returns with an irresistible new novel and a fresh new heroine who finds herself in a life-changing and utterly hilarious predicament….
When twenty-eight-year-old Lexi Smart wakes up in a London hospital, she’s in for a big surprise. Her teeth are perfect. Her body is toned. Her handbag is Vuitton. Having survived a car accident—in a Mercedes no less—Lexi has lost a big chunk of her memory, three years to be exact, and she’s about to find out just how much things have changed.
Somehow Lexi went from a twenty-five-year-old working girl to a corporate big shot with a sleek new loft, a personal assistant, a carb-free diet, and a set of glamorous new friends. And who is this gorgeous husband—who also happens to be a multimillionaire? With her mind still stuck three years in reverse, Lexi greets this brave new world determined to be the person she…well, seems to be. That is, until an adorably disheveled architect drops the biggest bombshell of all.
Suddenly Lexi is scrambling to catch her balance. Her new life, it turns out, comes complete with secrets, schemes, and intrigue. How on earth did all this happen? Will she ever remember? And what will happen when she does?

Behind The Book: A Note to Amazon Readers from Author Sophie Kinsella
From Publishers Weekly
Shopaholicpowerhouse Kinsella delights again with her latest, a winning if unoriginal tale of amnesia striking an ambitious shrew and changing her life for the better. After taking a nasty bump on the head, Lexi Smart awakens in a hospital convinced that it's 2004 and that she's just missed her father's funeral. It's actually three years later, and she no longer has crooked teeth, frizzy hair and a loser boyfriend. Initially wowed by what she's become—a gorgeous, cut-throat businesswoman—Lexi soon finds herself attempting to figure out how it happened. As her personality change and lost memory threaten her job, Lexi tries to dredge up some chemistry with her handsome albeit priggish husband, Eric, though the effort is unnecessary with Eric's colleague Jon, who tells Lexi that she was about to leave Eric for him. Amnesia tales may be old hat, but Kinsella keeps things fresh and frothy with workplace politicking, romantic intrigue and a vibrant (though sometimes caricatured) cast. Though the happy ending won't come as a surprise, readers will be rooting for Lexi all along. (Mar.)

Kinsella doesn't disappoint!
Lexi suffers from amnesia after a car accident, which has her forget the past 3 years of her life. As a result, she has no recollection of the man she married, the promotion in her job, the fallout with her best friends, etc. She tries to carry on with everyone as if it was 3 years earlier, but in fact, it isn't. In the midst of all that, Jon is claiming they were having an affair and are deeply in love, while Lexi swears she would never do such a thing. As the story progresses, she uncovers that her husband Eric isn't all he's cracked up to be, and Jon might have some validity to his claim. While a situation like this would be devastating, Kinsella approaches the subject with humor, as she always does, leaving Lexi to pick up the pieces and mend relationships she had broken before the accident happened. I was a little disappointed with the ending, because I felt there were many questions left unanswered and I wasn't ready to say goodbye to Lexi's story just yet. Could this mean a sequel is in the works? I sure hope so!!
to good to put down
A great read, with some humor inserted at just the right times. I passed it on to my sister and she loved it also!
loved it!
I absolutely adored this book and read it over and over again when I first purchased it. I'll admit I had low expectations but it is smart and quirky. There were a lot of moments where it made me "squee!"
The amenesia storyline is just the kick the standard love story needs. I thought Lexi was really relatable and Kinsella does a great job of describing each unique character without getting too long-winded. I only she had more description of Jon in it! :)
