I liked the Original Better ...
Remixes can be fun. It's always interesting to get somebody else's take on music. I generally prefer hearing a collection of remixes by the same Dj rather than a collection of remixes of the same song by different Djs. I find listening to a collection such as Obsidian Remixes to be a fractured experience.

Personal prejudices aside, I loved the original Obsidian on the Igizeh disk. It fit well into the greater context of the disk, gaining from the other numbers as well as enhancing them. I don't like the radio edit as well as the full version. And, if I'm not going to dance ... well, the remixes don't do a lot for me in this collection.

If you enjoy comparing remixes, or if you're simply a die-hard Banco de Gaia fan and have to have =EVERYTHING= then get this disk. Otherwise, you may want to save up a few more bucks and get the Igizeh disk itself.

Obsidian is the mix
I have long been a fan of Banco de Gaia's work and highly recommend that you check the remixes of Obsidian.

It has been a hit at all the parties. Vinyl rules!

Banco remixed
I love Banco De Gaia's work and I have collected all of his CD's. This remix CD is more danceable and trancy than his later albums. If you like Christopher Hook, Paul Oakenfold, and the more upbeat trance you'll like this little jewel.
