Let's hear it for girl-positive soundtracks! This one treads ground familiar to fans of Freaky Friday, though it skews younger, going easier on the rock. Most of the tracks are new, which is refreshing, and the best of the bunch hop and bounce with absolutely infectious verve. In fact, the first five are pretty unimpeachable slices of energetic pop, with Liz Phair reminding everybody that she can craft some of the best choruses in town, Joanna delivering classic "whoo-hoo"s on "Pretty Much Amazing," and the Donnas and Katie Melua bringing it all home with covers of Kim Wilde's "Kids in America" and Robert Palmer's "Looking for Clues," respectively. Newcomers Price and Persephone's Bees play groovy 1960s songs, while J-Kwon and Cupid deliver light, party-happy hip-hop tracks. The sensitive, female-voiced side of things is represented by Corinne Bailey Rae's familiar "Like a Star" and Norwegian band Flunk's Björkish, acoustic-flavored cover of New Order's "Blue Monday," which is so mellow that it takes off the song's pained edge--although it wouldn't be entirely surprising if it turned into a surprise hit, as with Frente's cover of "Bizarre Love Triangle." --Elisabeth Vincentelli

I loved the sound track, but I really loved the one song missing.
"When Did Your Heart Go Missing?" by Rooney

Great Soundtrack!!!!!5

When I saw the Nancy Drew movie, I was impressed by the music. So I decided to order the soundtrack, and I certainly am not sorry that I did.

The songs are upbeat and fun to listen to. They combine a nice mix of light and hard rock, so you will be pleased with it no matter what your preferences in music are.

Here is a list of how I rate each individual song:

COME TO CALIFORNIA: Three Stars

PERFECT MISFIT: Five Stars+ (This is my favorite song on the CD)

KIDS IN AMERICA: Five Stars

PRETTY MUCH AMAZING: Five Stars

LOOKING FOR CLUES: Three Stars

HEY NANCY DREW: Four Stars

NICE DAY: Four Stars

BLUE MONDAY: Four Stars

WE CAME TO PARTY: One Star

ALL I NEED: Two Stars

PARTY TONIGHT: One Star

Overall this is definately a five star album that you would not like to miss out on!

Soundtrack Fun for Kids!4
My 9-year old daughter loves this soundtrack. The two of us have danced into the wee hours with this one. Most pre-teen music doesn't sound well to my ears--way too "boppy" or full of neg-attitude. On the other hand, this one has some quality, fun music that I can handle.
